I just checked my reservation for dinner at teppanyaki for August and was told that the renovations were extended to 9/15 or so. She said they will be calling.

I can't believe this. Now what to do.

Does anyone have any experience with this ? Will they make special accomodations somewhere ?

That's Florida construction for you...:sad2:

When I saw that Disney was making dining arrangements for 2 days after the originally scheduled reopening, I figured that there might be a problem or two. I'm thinking they'll call you and help you find a meal at another restaurant, but I don't think they'll be bumping anyone from there tables at the second restaurant...I'd start searching for an alternate myself immediately.

OMG!!!! JUST GREAT!!! Well I just got off the phone with a CM and she was like oh my they did just post a note in the system that it will not open till around 9-15-07!!

She told met too keep my ADR, but we would make another just so I have a back up. LeCellier was booked so I have a reservation for Chefs De France now???

Any other suggestions for my Birthday dinner in the Epcot area????:sad2:

How is dinner in France or what about Italy. Is the new restaurant part of the dining plan???

This is such a bummer...Thanks for the heads up!

Michelle

Oh my DH is going to be upset. :scared1: :scared1:

First they closed down Tusker House his favorite CS.
Then I had to tell him Spaceship Earth is going to be closed his favorite ride.

NOW his favorite TS is going to be closed. Now I am really scared.

I called yesterday to check on my reservations there (9/1) and my other ADRs for the week and they didn't said anything about it not being open.

Update: I just called and was told yes they extended it. I was able to get a 4:50pm at San Angel Inn. Guess it will have to do.

BTW......I told my DH and he was not happy.

I'm so bummed! I had an early Sept. Tepan ADR for 6:30p, party of 6 (celebrating my parents) and when I called just now All I can get is Chef's at 8:20pm. Will I get out of dinner in time to se Illuminations??

Oh ... I'm so upset about this ... and DH is going to be even more upset by it. And because our date for Japan falls into the regular Free Dining promo, the chances of us getting something are pretty slim pickings. This was the ONE meal on our whole 10 days that we were really, really looking forward to. couldn't care less about any of the rest of them. :sad2:

Somehow I just knew this would happen :sad2: This is one of DH's favorite meals at WDW so I made it as late in the trip as possible in case the renovations were a couple days late (wasn't counting on 3 weeks!!)

Mercifully I had booked 3 other TS meals throughout our trip that we were going to pay OOP so I guess I'll just use that credit for one of those and we'll eat CS OOP the night of our Japan ADR.... such a shame though....

There goes our 5:30 ADR for our first evening (8/26).

Oh, well. Add it to the long list of major refurbs, closings and overages this year--Haunted Mansion, Spaceship Earth, Tusker House, AKL, ASM, CR, Alfredo's, Teppanyaki, etc., etc.

"Adjust, adapt, overcome"--the motto of a guest touring WDW this year.

No you will not get out in time, we had a 7:45 reservation and did not get out in time! Many people walked outside to see a quick glimpse of the fireworks, but they were not visible from inside the restaurant. You might try Nine Dragons they had earlier reservations when I checked...

Thanks Work2Play,
I just called and switched it to Chefs de France for lunch. THis should be good as it will get my mother out of the sun during a hot part of the day. :flower3:

Yep, I just called and now it's scheduled to reopen on 9/15...I'll just have to wait until next trip to try it out.

Well i got Sept 15 as opening too. so time to make some changes but things are limited for a group of 10

That is what I switched to also--but for dinner...Still bummed but out of all the choices she gave me Chefs sounded best.

Dang. I knew there was a possibility of Teppanyakki (Teppan Edo) renovations slipping out so I'm more dissapointed than surprised. We switched to Nine Dragons for dinner as my nephew wanted to eat at an Asian restaurant. Teppan was his first choice. :sad1:

But hey, at least an ADR was available! :thumbsup2

Ack!! DH is going to be so mad...our ADR was for 9/13!!! I just called and confirmed it. They did seem to have a decent amount of ADRs open for other Epcot restaurants.

well, darn! I just called and they had already canceled my ADR...would have been nice of them to let me know of course!

Any suggestion as to where to eat instead (skip Mexico, we get enough of that here local)?

There is a Benihana in the Hilton at Downtown Disney and it is pretty good.
