I see the retaurant has a new name.
Does anyone know if they are still going to be cooking in front of you?

Its the reason we chose it and so we're considering changing it. anyone? we're booked late August and its suppossed to be "ready" THANKS!

I hear you! My family has it booked for our Christmas trip. That restaurant always gets named as a "must eat" place. If they don't cook in front of you, I'll have to ask my family if they still want to eat there. Sigh!

I had the same concern, but I called the WDW Dine phone line this evening and they stated that the restaurant will remain the same style, a similar menu, and the food will still be cooked in front of you.

When i called a few days ago to make my ADRs, the CM told me they were changing the name, but the restaurant would stay the same. :thumbsup2

Going by the name I would say yes. 'teppan' restaurants do cook in front of you.

Good thread, I was curious what was happening here.

My wife and I always try to take a night out alone with the kids in one of the "clubs".

We love this place. We'll always drop by and if we aren't in a mood for the larger meal, we'll stop at the sushi bar and almost always get a seat right away. We enjoy the sushi and tend to partake in vast quantities of sake.:drinking1

We were disappointed to hear that the pavilion would be closed down this trip, but we were thinking about trying out "Kimonos" this time around anyways, so we'll make due.

I'll look forward to seeing the changes next trip. It's nice they rehabd these places from time to time. It's just sad they shut down for so long. Oh well...

Just HAD to drop you a note! Your TR was hysterical with your daughter!
Sorry to hear you DH didn't get the job that delayed his trip, hope that has worked out well.

As to Teppan Edo, YEAH, looks like they ARE still doing the cooking in front of you, so its a go for us. :woohoo:

THANK YOU :grouphug: ALL FOR TAKING THE TIME TO RESPOND TO THE ORIGINAL QUESTION!!

Go over to DTD, walk across the street to the Hilton and try Benihana....It's a Japanese Steakhouse...We ate there 2 weeks ago and it was great!!
