Tents and Premium sites

I'm back!

Some friends of ours who have NEVER been to Disney are going to camp with us next March so we were going to have a tent for them along with our TT.
My question is would it be better to have a plain old "preferred" site with the sand area for the tent or is there enough room in the newly enlarged premium sites? I was afraid if "enlarged" meant paving over the sand area there would be no way to drive in your tent stakes!!!

Nobody has seen the new sites yet, they just started working on them. From what I have read on here, the sand pad will pretty much be gone. You will have to use some creativity to get a tent secured.

If you want a premium and want to set up a tent with no sand and don't mind the floor of the tent being on concrete, they make anchor bags for tents. You fill the bag with sand or rocks and then use it to "stake" your tent down. Not sure where you could find rocks or sand at FW though.

I've found that the "Preferred" sites actually have less room for tent, than the regular tent sites. We've been assigned to Preferred sites, and asked to be moved to a regular tent site, because we couldn't find enough room for the tent stakes.

Another thing I would suggest for a premium site is if there is no dropoff between the concrete and the regular ground, you could set the tent up on the very edge and at least stake down three of the four corners and then sandbag the fourth corner.
