Recently started tent camping and have a lot of fun. However, its a lot of work packing, unpacking, setting up, etc. Can anyone offer any tips on how to be organized better? I feel like I spend most of my time getting set up/breaking down than I do relaxing and enjoying.
Thanks!

I'm still a novice camper, but I've found my times have improved each time I set up my tent. Can't really do anything about how long it takes to blow up that darn air mattress though! ;)
Keeping thing in totes helps. Cooking stuff in one tote. Towels/bedding in another. You get the idea..
Looking forward to hearing other tips! :)

I second the totes. I have 4 heavy-duty bins with waterproof lids. Two are for kitchen ware (including electric skillet & kettle, rice maker and crock pot, 1 for the pop-up (sheets, blankets, pillows, reading lights, flashlight) and 1 is miscellaneous (duct tape, bungee cords, tools, wheel chocks, front jack, flashlight). They load and unload easily from the trailer to the garage and vice versa. Once at the campsite, they get put on the picnic table while the pop up is being set up. While camping they stay under the popup or the picnic table.

Another thing that makes it easy is a check list and a packlist on the computer, although now that I use the bin system, everything stays packed and ready to go. I don't have one item that has to be shared between the house and the pop up. When something gets a bit worn at home, it goes into the camping bin and a new item is bought for the house.

I try to take half a day off on camping weekends (by working extra Mon-Thurs). That way I get there in daylight and can take my time setting up. I put a chair in the shade and break the set up or break down into segments and rest in the chair and have a cold drink in between segments.

Usually I bring a sub sandwich or take out of some kind for the first night. Often I leave setting up the screened dining tent and kitchen for the next morning when I am fresh. The rest of the gang usually sleeps in a bit and I am an early riser, so by the time they are ready for breakfast, i have set it all up, coffee is made and breakfast is set to be cooked.

Practice. That and containers for certain purposes.

What the others said...practice, totes and patience. lots of patience, especially when you have a perfectionist husband and moody teenagers!
Seriously though, the more you go the easier it gets and the better organized you will be.

Can't wait to get a pop up. Then I can eliminate, air matresses, tent, fan, cooler, and half the stuff I bring can be left inside the camper :)
