Hello there! We are considering taking our first trip to Disney this spring. Like a previous poster, we are considering camping to be able to afford the dining plan. Or we would stay at a value and eat fast food all week!
We are experienced campers. My question is, has anyone taking tenting equipment on a plane? How does this work logistically? My husband doesnt want to drive (we live in NH!!) and I dont look forward to it either! Thank you!!!:goodvibes

Yep, I've done it before. With two of you, you can have two checked pieces of luggage at 50 lbs per piece, then a carryon and personal item. (With Southwest 3 checked pieces per person). I think there is one airline that has dropped to one checked piece per person, with a 2nd piece at $10 extra.

Assuming two checked per person, you could bring the following:

Tent, 1 large or two smaller
Rain shelter
Air mattress
Electric Pump
Linens and Pillows, electric blanket if in winter months
40 ft outdoor extension cord
power strip
folding chairs
Toiletry bag for each of you
shower shoes
small electric fan
normal Disney clothes
camera
rain gear
laundry detergent/dryer sheets/rolls of quarters
battery operated lantern
Coleman Tent Light
Collapsible cooler for keeping beverages cool at your site

Here is a picture of a setup I did when tent camping and flying in 2004. I was there for a week, so I had two tents. One I slept in, the other held my stuff. I did this as a solo.

Carol you just amaze me lol. That is a good looking site especially considering you flew that in. You should host a camping show lol. I know I could do much better than some of those corny guys on cable rv shows.
