Tent Camper interested in a popup...

Until we got used to it, we would occasionally get damp beds in the kids bunk area on cool nights when using our TT. I remember this from when I was a kid as well, that sometimes it's even more about the ventilation and keeping the air dry because you can get condensation on the inside that would make you think you had a leak.

I can sleep three of my kids on one end, and me, dh, and ds on the other. And then we still have room for 2 more people. We can even fit a travel pack n play in our pop up if we take the table/bed out.

Sounds like a good start to the summer camping (except of course missing out on FW). I'll have to pick your brain as to what you have to do do de-winterize your pup ;)
Tim here has a good website for that kind of stuff, Natasha's camping site

But it's much easier to bring it to the dealer 5 minutes away. They don't sell Fleetwood, but are good for the standard stuff. They're cheap too!

We were out for the very first time in our pop up and it snowed. We had treated the seams with candle wax beforehand and had no problems in rain or snow.

It only took us one time of tent camping to convince ourselves to get a pop up. We have the king end and our son has the queen. We put a fitted sheet over the mattress and our sleeping bags on top of that. Our camper sleeps 7 so there is plenty of room for the 3 of us. We opted for the toilet/shower also. It's mainly for me although during the night it is used by all of us. This has been one of the best investments we have ever made. Between the pop-up and our DVC we are set for vacations for a while.

You definitely need to keep some sort of a vent open in a popup especially when it is cool outside. Condensation will build up on the inside of the vinyl of the tent ends if the trailer is not adequately vented. This is especially true the more people that you have sleeping in the trailer.

Thanks for the tip!

Thank you very much for the link, I'll check it out. The dealer we're purchasing from is about 30 minutes away from us, but if it is too involved it may be easier to just have them do it for us every spring :D

Wonderful info and glad you're having such a positive experience with it. We had dinner with some old friends/new friends last night and the new couple has a '07 Fleetwood Evolution and love it.

I also got an e-mail back from another owner of a 625D just like the one we're picking up and he was extremely pleased about his and gave me some good tips/things to look out for as far as preventative maintenance on it.

That makes sense with all the plastic and fabric, no matter how good your waterproofing is you still have to have airflow or things will get mucky.
