Thinking of giving DH a scuba excursion in St Thomas for Valentines (we cruise March 6). DCL doesn't offer one (this is a PADi resort certification trip), but shoretrips.com does, at 8:15am or 1pm for 4 hours.

I looked on an old navigator at castawayclub.com, and it says the Magic is in St Thomas:
Aprox all ashore 8:15am
Last tender back to ship: 4:30pm

Does this mean we won't be able to make either of the scuba times? If you are not on a DCL excursion, when do you get to go ashore?

When we cruised to St Thomas 2 years ago, we didn't tender in, but I see from the 12/03 navigators that they did tender. I don't know the answer regarding the times off to tender. You may also want to contact the Coki Beach Dive Club; they offer all varieties of dives, and meet you at the cruise dock--they might have some info on this.

The Magic usually docks at St. Thomas, but 2-3 times a year, they have to anchor and tender when there are too many ships in port to dock.

Maybe I misunderstood what king of diving you want to give your husband, but there is a certified dive in St. Thomas as part of the excursions from DCL, my husband is signed up for it, for February 21.
In case we do have to tender in, I figured it is the easiest one to do.
