Ten Sleeps in Disney World!! - An Aug Trip Report *5/9 Departure Day & Final Thoughts

OOPS!! Well, color my face red! Of course you wouldn't celebrate Thanksgiving. Duh!

Black Friday is something I usually avoid like the plague! However, this year I couldn't sleep so I went to Target @ 5:00.:scared1: I picked up a DS game, a board game and Christmas PJs and stood in line for 45 minutes! I don't know if it was worth saving $23.

reading your TR over the holiday - I just love it!
We also have a DS 9 with autism - makes life interesting that is for sure.
My mom took him and I on his first trip to WDW this past sept. We struggled a but but hope to go back next sept with hubby. I think trip will be a bit better with hubby to help out. We are hoping to make our trip 10 nights so that we can relax a bit more.

There were so many mental notes I made about your TR that I wanted to say, but I seem to have forgotten most of them. Here are the few I remember:
- the raccoon story had me laughing so hard I cried
- have you ever found the monorail plate - I am still looking for that
- your food reports have been great - adding some to my to do next time list

Thanks and can't wait to read more!

...I seem to have forgotten the raccoon story?

I have vague memories.. but I'm not piecing them together. Time to go search the thread!

What a wonderful evening! To echo an earlier comment, how great is it to have all that fun and not have to spend anything...of course it is fun to buy as well ;) The glass slipper was lovely, my girls would love that store :thumbsup2

And thanks for keeping your camera out all the time, the pics from the stores really help to show all that DTD has to offer :)

Ok now I really think I am losing my mind LOL.
I love the what we like each day reports.

Yikes! Forty-five minutes eh? Well I suppose I'd probably wait in line that long for $23 too. I'm a sucker for deals. :thumbsup2

Well, I can't take credit for the funny raccoon story but I'd love to find it!

It's funny how I've always been more of a window shopper than an actual buyer... :rotfl: Well, my bank account says "thank you" anyway!

Have you found the TR with the raccoon story yet? ;) Well I'm very glad you've joined along.... :welcome: and thanks for reading!

We were very lucky to have ten wonderful sleeps this trip to really have the chance to slow down. I hope your next trip brings you everything you wish for :wizard: I LOVE your photo :goodvibes

Joining in a little late! I need to go back and catch up on everything-- just wanted to subscribe now!
DBF and I were there at the same time as you guys-- only from August 20-25th! I'm going to stalk your pictures to see if we're in the background of any of them!
Also-- DBF works with developmentally delayed adults/children, including austics. He has had the unfortunate experience of witnessing terrible parents-- even including fathers who abandon their children because they cannot deal with the fact that their son is challenged. He and I think it's so wonderful that you and your husband are such amazing, patient parents to your daughter (and sons, too)! Truly, kudos!

I don't know if this is THE trip report you are referring to but this one has a raccoon story in it...

Woo-hoo... thank you! I took a quick look and just the front page had me smiling :rotfl: I'll have to go back and catch up!

Hello and :welcome: ... thanks for reading along! Let me know if you find yourself in any pics cause I just find that really cool when that happens :thumbsup2

Thank you SO much for your kind words. :goodvibes Ariana's "quirks" have become second nature to us, and we've learned to treat her as we do the boys for the most part. She understands, but she's very stubborn and wants to do her own thing (and she's a teenager! :faint:)

Ok all caught up again. Oh now I really can't wait to explore Downtown Disney. I will have to find that Pooh photo opportunity for Joey. Most of his Christmas gifts this year are Pooh related. :lmao: And he has picked out in my Birnbaum guide the Pooh dining experience, so I hope that goes well.

I LOVE LOVE LOVED your mini TR with the lights. That is so amazing all those Disney lights, what a fun Disney treat for your family.

That is so sweet that Ariana got a glass slipper, every girl should have one.

So how is everything, I haven't talked to you in ages. Any new trips planned yet? Hope all is well.

Oh too sweet! You can't miss the Pooh bench.... he'll love it. :goodvibes

Isn't that something? We hadn't been for a while so it was a real treat to go see them again... a few new ones were there too and the Falls were just incredible. :thumbsup2

I think so too! I think I'm going to get one for myself next trip!

We're all great... went thru a few bouts of chest colds but we've all finally recovered.....

Christmas :santa: 2010 is a definate go! :cool1: The hubby can't go :guilty: but I'm taking the kids back to the Pop and Alex has a good friend that has been given permission to come with us as long as he helps to save up for it!! :woohoo:

Hope your family had a very Merry Christmas!!!!:santa:

Oh THANK YOU!! We did have a wonderful Christmas, Santa was wonderful to us.... I got the two books I'd hoped for, The Hidden Magic of WDW and Mousejunkies.... and my naughty hubby broke our pact for this year and got me an extra gift... a beautiful Caravelle Bulova watch with sweet hearts in the band. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas too!

Thank you! I hope your years have gotten off to a fabulous start :thumbsup2

We are sooo excited about December 2010, Demetri is already asking how many sleeps until we go.

I'm pretty sure its going to be the first week of December.... I'm paranoid about being stuck or cancelled due to snowstorms and George's birthday is mid December so we'd want to be back for that for sure. So many ideas and plans are already rolling thru my brain! :rotfl:

I really need to get back on track for this TR....

Whoops! You snuck in there before me  Happy New Year to you too!

Thanks! I've loved all of your Christmas photos and I cannot wait to tour all the resorts for the decorations...... heaven! :cloud9:

Your trip report is awesome. We are planning a 2010 trip also (Thanksgiving week and the first week of December). This year we are planning on going to Disney Quest, I was so happy that you included so much about it in your trip report. I wasn't so thrilled to be adding that this year, but after reading you tr, I can't wait. I love your mickey pirate head t shirts, did you do those? I would love to have some of those for our trip this time. Keep the tr coming:lovestruc
