Ten days until our first trip to UO :cool1: . I'm hoping Sept crowds are low. Jumping out of my seat, I cannot wait. You guys have been great, I've learned alot. Thank you. Kids are hyped. Only wish DH would show an ounce of enthusiasm. Any extra advice? I'll Take it!!!!

 :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :dance3: :woohoo: :hourglass

Have a great trip and don't worry about DH.....he'll be  when he gets there!! :thumbsup2

I'm sooooooooo jealous! We have another few weeks to go ourselves.

I'm so excited for you! DH was the same way until he checked on HHN site - at least he is excited about that :confused3 we'll be there right behind you :cheer2:

You guys are lucky! Still alittle over a month for us and just can't wait .. been on here daily researching like crazy.

9 days and counting. Thanks for the enthusiasm. Dh said he'll be excited when he gets there. He just hates the process before and dreads flying. Funny he didn't plan anything, all he has to do is show up........maybe thats the problem :rolleyes1 .

For a couple months I've been envious of people on the board talking about leaving. It's finally my turn. :Pinkbounc Unfortunately, as quickly as it arrives, it's over even faster. But I shouldn't dwell on that.

:rockband: I'm going to Universal!!!!!

Hey:

I am counting down myself... 8 days and counting. Will be there for 5 days and only going to Universal/IOA and citywalk.

The last time I was in Universal was for one day and was on 9/12/01. Not a good day to be anywhere. 9/11 and a Hurricane forced all the parks to close down. I'm looking forward to this trip...

I've done disney so many times in the last 6 years.. It's time for some Universal Love!

Amen to that! We actually are (shhhh!) a little Disney'd out in my household, so this is like going somewhere completely different and foreign to us. We are, however, squeezing in the Disney Halloween party :)

Instead of my usual "I"m jealous" post to these type of threads you did ask for some last minute tips. I would just give you my personal "Must dos" that is if for some reason you don't do everything. And you may already know this but any who, here goes:

1) Spider Man 3D ride
2) Jurassic Park River Adventure Boat Ride
3) Mythos Restaurant
4) The Mummy
5) Men In Black
6) Jimmy Buffets
7) Everything else and just walking around and looking at all the amazing things.

One last tip, I presonally think Islands of Adventure is the best park I would start there. It is so magical and the most unique thing you will ever do.

8 DAYS!!!

Thank you for the advice. I have 15 meal and movie coupons so dinner everynight will be free. Mythos sound very tempting for a nice lunch. I am definitely not sticking to a diet on this trip. Double up the exercise when I come home.

CAN'T WAIT

Don't worry a bit about DH. My DH would rather golf but he absolutely loves USO vacations. They are so relaxed, no waiting in line and everyone is always happy!

I'm a DH (designated hitter?) and I love Universal but DW (dish washer?) chooses to stay home with the dogs.
Have fun and tell us how it goes.

I will be there on Monday. Just my 13 year old son, and I. I really cannot wait. It is a surprise side 3 night trip to Universal for him. He has no idea we are going. He thinks we leave the 21st just for disney!! Any suggestions on hiding where we are going, when i go to get the mears shuttle? Is it possible to still keep it a surprise, until we arrive at the hotel?? Any surprise tips. My mom says give him a card, on the plane, at almost touchdown saying surprise we are going to universal for 3 nights. I think that is pretty lame. Any other suggestions? TIA

The Mears bus stops at many hotels, so just tell him that it is going to the Universal hotels first.

What a great surprise! Your going to get big points from your son. And some great leverage as well. When he gets older and rebellious you just remind him of this trip.

Hope you have a wonderful time. How can you contain yourself in front of him? I know I would give it away. My kids can read me like a book!

You can always blind fold him and/or gag him and/or throw him in the back of the trunk of the car.

Aztec, now that sounds like something i could do with hubby. Not son. :confused3

Ha ha ha! I was thinking hmmm that sounds like an introduction to S&M not Universal's theme park. ;)

Only 6 Days!!! :goodvibes

My husband and I met for Chinese this afternoon and may I quote directly from his fortune cookie:

"Traveling to the south will bring you unexpected happiness"

The cookie has spoken! :sunny:
