I keep seeing commercials for Temu and I'm curious to know what it's like? Is it supposed to be like Big Lots and is it better than closeout stores like Factory2U and Family Dollar? From what I saw from the commercials Temu offers free stuff to first time members and how is the quality of the products?

Warning, it is addictive. You will see stuff that you didn't know existed. You will find things that you do not need, but you will really want.

The quality stuff varies greatly by what you purchase. Usually the stuff is good, but if they provide measurements etc, be sure to read those closely and look closely at the pictures they provide. I would really avoid stuff that is electric/electronic. I got an electric toothbrush on there and it didn't work out too well, it would randomly turn on :rotfl2:They have a generous return policy though, the easiest thing is to just get Temu credit, and they just tell you to keep the item and don't send anything back.

You have to be very careful with sizes on clothes. Go with measurements instead of sizes. You can find all sorts of funny decorations etc... You can find some really good garden flags. My current one is a picture of Lionel Richie that says "Hello".

My only real complaint is that shipping takes a long time usually.

I believe Temu is known for exploitive slave labor and toxins, there are lots of articles and news stories. Things like chemicals, dyes and paints that are illegal in the US are used on products in other countries then imported here and no-one knows because the US does not bother looking so it is up to us to protect ourselves without help.

I would not willingly buy from any of these sorts of organizations :(

Yes, same as Shein. The reason those shipments take so long is that they come directly from China, bypassing US warehouses and retailers, quality control, and import tariffs.

My friend uses it. Measurements are key. Even photos can be deceptive when you don't think there could be any discrepancies. The biggest problem she had was when she bought a dog bed. Photo/description says large bed and shows a golden retriever (large dog) laying on it. Not sure on the measurements from memory but I don't think she paid attention to or maybe not there. She bought it as it was perfect for her small dog and cat to share. It comes and is an 8x10 inch size. super small and barely would fit any cat; definitely not the dog in the photo. I think they tried to fight her on the return, especially if the measurements were there. The quality of what was actually provided actually was good; just not close to the size expected. She still uses it but usually for things not size dependent.

I've bought some stuff from there. Some is good, some not so good. Their return policy is good though. I bought 2 of the same thing, one was defective. They replaced both of them. Shipping is a little slow at times, but I expected that. I just ordered 2 shirts, first time buying clothing so I'm anxious to see if the sizes are right or not.

I, for one, love Temu. Some of the same vendors sell on Amazon & other online marketplaces.
Just read the reviews & check measurements for items you are interested in. All items I have purchased have had the dimensions listed & I keep a tape measure close by so I can see how big something is before ordering.
They have good customer service & excellent return policy & you can also ask for a price adjustment when you see an item you purchased offered at a lower price. Clothing sizes usually run small, kinda like anything I buy from Ross compared to what I buy at Kohl's.
