NOTICE TO ALL CM's FOR GUEST NOTIFICATION:

As we continue to update infrastructure around the monorail system, we will be modifying the routes on the Resort and Express monorail beams on select days during the next few weeks.

•The modified routes will be in effect on February 3-5, 9-12, 23-26 and March 2-5 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
•During these times, trains on the Resort beam will travel between Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Magic Kingdom Park.
•Trains on the Express beam will now make an additional stop at Disney’s Contemporary Resort as they travel between Magic Kingdom Park and Transportation and Ticket Center.
•Resort Guests traveling to Epcot have two options: they can either board a train to the Transportation and Ticket Center and transfer to the Epcot line or they can take a Disney bus directly from their resorts.

Monorail service will continue to be available from all stations while work takes place and the monorail operating hours will remain unchanged. Guests may note a difference in the way they board the trains and should allow for more travel time to reach their destinations.

It will be way better for Polynesian visitors to just walk to the TT&C. This looks like a pain for GF guests.

My wife and I will be there next week, 1 night at GF and 3 nights at BLT. Not sure how this really affects GF guests as they will still have 1 stop to the MK and actually 1 less to get home. What I'm anxious to see is how they will load guests at Contemporary as the express beam is furthest from the platform ?

Does anyone know why this is being done? are the doing construction in the track? Also curious if the monorails are going in a loop or stopping and going backwards? Poly-gf-mk-gf-poly Or poly-gf-mk-poly loop

Track work. And monorail work. The monorail will not loop it will go back and forth.

So that sounds like it could be great for GF guests or great for Poly but not both depending on which side of the track they use. My guess is the GF will have the advantage here. Any idea how they are loading guests at Contemporary on the express beam?

Actually, I believe it has to do with the automation coming on line in Feb/Mar.

If I'm reading this correctly the resort train will not stop at the T&TC. That is what would bother me.

It's part of it but I heard that a little work needed to be done at the contemporary station. The automation is still a bit away from being fully used.

It will shuttle back and forth between the Poly and MK with a stop at GF in between. So it will go from the Poly to GF then to MK. At that point it will reverse the route back to the Poly. It can't go to the TTC because the resort rail will not be powered from the TTC to the Contemporary. The work is mostly for repairs to the roof above the resort rail in the Contemporary.

If this is true, don't bother using the monorail for transportation---- there can only be one train on each beam.......or else they will need to load one, move past the station enough to load another, then reverse, and double stop at next station, and repeat.....

If THIS is true-- the contemporary loop ( CR--TTC--MK) will probably still run the whole loop to move enough people from the TTC to the MK.... Poly side will have one train going back and forth. I would walk to the contemporary.

It's at least what I read somewhere else I don't remember where exactly.

The express can have the normal amount of trains just with additional traffic control for the Contemporary stop. It's primary purpose will still be to shuttle people between the TTC and MK. But they also continue to have service to the Contemporary.

The resort loop will be operating so that people staying at those two resorts can get back and forth to MK. In a way the hub will be the MK station where you can get a train to any destination on the loops.

I think you are missing my point-- if the reason for the change is because of working on the ceiling of the resort monorail track at the contemporary, the resort train cannot pass through the station, leaving it to move back and forth to the poly from MK, thus only being able to have one train on the beam.
Slow turn around.
