This is the exact issue I was inquiring about yesterday. I am concerned taking the time to select the people with passes will cause me to miss my chance to get a BG. I will remove the guests without tickets if this is going be a problem.

Can some DISers please confirm what happened today- and also what is generally happening now at WDW when trying to get BG?

If only my son and I have tickets for DHS we should already be selected and my daughter and son in law should not be? I s this correct? Because it seems from the above post that is not what is happening now.

Yes, this happened today but is not the norm. Occasionally there is a glitch with they system but not a regular occurrence. @VADisneyMama5816 did everything correctly in that when the system glitched they selected the members of their party but unfortunately still missed getting a BG. Hopefully things change for her at 1PM.

Unfortunately there really is no way to practice for glitches as they don't normally happen and when they do, they can be different each time. Today's experience of clicking 'select all' and then being encouraged to remove guests when everyone had a park reservation, is a new problem that I have never heard about before. If it has happened, this thread is where people are most active and someone will respond with what happened when this scenario happened to them.

This is very true. We had a major Disney -caused glitch happen on our day. As a result of the glitch, I was the only one who got a boarding pass. We went to HS, talked to a CM, and they gave a BG to my husband.

FYI-Practiced from home yesterday at 1pm and found that you could still get a boarding group until at least 1:26 (perhaps longer but that's the last time I checked). Touring Plans gave yesterday a "2" at DHS. In retrospect they actually saw a "1" which was interesting to me for a Saturday.

I would just go for the BG everyone. If you are concerned about taking spots for others, talk to a CM to let them know that two in your party aren't going on the ride and see if they can modify. In general if people don't show up to RotR on-time they usually will just add them to the 1pm slot for others to grab.

Back to update- per Drew, CM at DHS, do NOT click “include all party”. It will give you an error. Just hit join and join and it will work correctly. We got through at 1pm and was BG 86…which was called at 1:50. Hope this helps!

Maybe it’s different in park verses not in park, but our experience was if we got to the page where you had to choose your party- unless you actually chose someone it wouldn’t let you proceed with the join on that screen.

No- we were practicing when it happened. But oddly enough- that same day there were a couple people who actually WERE going to the park and it happened to them the same day... I decided not to take any chances- I spent the mandatory hour on hold, and got through to Disney IT, and had them remove the people in our list who weren't going with us.

When you are practicing your will always have to select the people in your party as the pre-selected guests are only those with park reservations which will never be the case on the day you're practicing.

Occasionally the system does glitch as you said and people with park reservations need to select their party but this is not the norm.
