Temporarily Locked: Standy Line Open. Boarding Group: Rise of the Resistance *No Spoilers* Thread, Read 1st Post before commenting.

Should I remove guests from my party on MDE when it is just my son and I trying to get a boarding group? If I need to un click two people it seems that will cause too much of a delay? What do the experts here think I should do? My daughter and her husband will not arrive until the fourth of our trip. This morning I got to the page where it said select all, which I did, and then it said none of us had reservations. If I had to unblock my daughter and her husband - based on what I am reading- I doubt we would be successful.
Thank your any help, it is greatly appreciated.

I am unsure about what to do after reading post 1. I am at home practicing this- and I do not understand what will happen when I am at WDW with a DHS park reservation trying to get a boarding pass -as my full party will not be with me that day. If they are in my group, but without a reservation, will their names be there to check and uncheck after I click join? Or will only peopel who have reservations for DHS that day show up after I click "join."

I have one day - one chance to get this right, so if I need to remove those guests from my party I will. I am just not sure what to do here? Thanks for responding and your help!

Anyone that has a park reservation that day will be automatically selected. If the other members of your party don’t Have a park reservation, they won’t be automatically selected. Therefore, you won’t need to unselect them that day and you don’t need to remove them.

On Monday 8/9 I was unsuccessful getting a BG at 7:00 (can't believe how quickly they went--in seconds!). At 1:00 I got BG 128, which was approximately scheduled to board at 6:00 pm. It kept getting pushed back, and we were the final group called at 9:00 pm! I guess Rise was down quite a bit that day, so we were very lucky to get on it. We hopped to Epcot in the afternoon, and one of my DDs and DH took a short break at our resort. Even with that, my family was exhausted by 9:00 pm (I dragged them out of bed to get to HS by 8:00 am). The ride was so awesome, but it sure is a lot of work just to get on it!!

Thank you! When I am practicing from home everyone in the party is there after I click join. Is that because none of us have reservations that day?

Right. If you had reservations, you would all still be listed but only those with reservations will be selected.

Most people use the Join method as described in post 1.

Right, but I've seen and read lots of stuff in other places and people recommend the refresh method. I'm just curious if anyone has had success with the refresh method because that's what I used when practicing yesterday morning and was successful. Maybe a better question is--who has success with the refresh method (as opposed to the join method as suggested in Post 1)?

I’m not convinced. Posters here have actually seen this message when practicing on a non-HS day? I’ve yet to see it except when, you know, it mattered. I only got one of the supposedly “successful” messages whenever I practiced, and a few seconds later the Join button is just gone along with try again later.

I think so. I was able to get all the way up to the page that said something about not having a DHS park pass for the day (this was a 7 am attempt). So it was join>join>no park pass. That is what I assume is successful. (Actually, there might have been a third join--I forget because it was so fast!)

I think what you describe is exactly what you should expect. You were successful and then seconds later the join button disappears. That's how fast the BGs go.

What method do folks with an iPhone use at 7AM? As far as I can tell, there is no way for the iPhone's status bar to display seconds, so you can't sit in MDE and watch it count down. Do you use a Time app or website until T-10 and then switch apps to MDE and count Mississippis?

I was there this past week. I used a second phone with time.gov running. When it showed 6:59.59. I hit join, join, join. I got BG 16 and 8. Had full Bars with AT&T at the Caribbean Beach outside Jamaica section. First day our ride went perfect. Second one had technical difficulties for about 20 minutes. But it was cool where we had to wait. Once it was fixed, it continued on. we didn’t miss anything.

I made sure in advance that my iPhone and Apple Watch are synced with time.gov. Then I just used my watch as the timer that told me when to start hitting join.

Some people have the iPhone clock showing seconds on the screen, with the MDE app running in the background. When the time gets to 6:59:50, they start counting down the seconds while they switch to the MDE app and when their countdown gets to 7:00:00 they start tapping Join-Join-Join.

Also, someone posted a while back To click join a few minutes before and then back out to the AT AT page. This definitely helps the page load faster at 7:00.

My plan is to pull up time.gov on my laptop at 6:50, close all apps on my iPhone, restart my iPhone and shut off Wi-fi (staying at the Swan), open MDE, go to the AT-AT page and hit join, back out of the "attractions" page to the AT-AT page, hold my phone up in front of me with the laptop clock in the background and hit join-join-join when 7:00:00 rolls around.

I'm thinking that switching between apps will lose precious milliseconds and counting down mississippis will be too inaccurate (unless you're a drummer with perfect timing!)

We only have one DHS reservation day for this coming trip. I'll let people know how it worked!

Sounds like a plan. Scope out a good signal in advance. My phone had one bar less in the room at CBR. Went outside and had full bars.

Okay..so this is our first time here since April 2021. We tried to get a BG this morning and encountered the “select all” , which we did. The next screen then posted all the people who did not have valid tickets/reservations. That is where we did not know what to do. The screen made it seem like we needed to remove people. Of course, that was incorrect. What should we have done? We will be in the parks later today for the 1pm try, so what should we do differently? Thanks! PS- I read post 1 and did not get a clear answer to this

Deepest apologies if this has been covered already, but I'm hoping someone knows the answer to this.

Hypothetical scenario:

--party of 4; everyone has HS reservation
--party tries for BG from hotel at 7am, but fails
--one member of the party goes to HS that morning, but the other 3 stay behind and lounge at the pool
--the one member who tapped in tries for BG at 1

Is the whole party eligible for a BG at 1pm, or just the party member who tapped into HS?

Hmm, if you have park reservations for your party today yet you had to individually select the people in your party then the system was not working properly. Normally your party is pre-selected the day you have a park reservation and you can just click 'join'.

What you will need to do differently at 1PM, if the problem is not fixed, it to select only those people on your list who do have park reservations today and who have already entered Disney's Hollywood Studios. Do you have people on your family and friends list who do not have park reservations today?

Sorry this happened to you. I wonder if others faced the same problem today? Hoping the bug is fixed by 1 PM and if not, you're able to select only the members of your party in the park today and get a BG.

Please keep us posted if you're able.

Each person who wishes to get a BG at 1PM must have tapped in at DHS prior to 1PM. In the case above, only the person who went to the park would be eligible. Disney tickets are non-transferrable so each person must go to the park.

Thank you for the response. Everyone in our party have reservations. It was really strange and I had never seen anything like this either. M hoping others encountered that as well this morning and will answer back as to what happened with their situation.
