Temporarily Locked: Standy Line Open. Boarding Group: Rise of the Resistance *No Spoilers* Thread, Read 1st Post before commenting.

Thanks. I see the boarding time but since it has changed from 600 minutes to 300 minutes and the park is not officially open I thought maybe someone could give a better estimate
I'll add that the data the PP pulled is consistent with our mid-July times as well. We had BG 52, 57 and 72. We were called between 12-2 for those groups. so I'd say around 1 is a good estimate for you if there are not many breakdowns/stops.

We got nothing. Hit join the second my phone turned 7, hit the second join and got the message back that all boarding groups were full. I could not have done it any faster. I guess we try again at 1. We do have a second day reserved but given today’s experience I am not optimistic.
Did you check time.gov or an atomic clock app? The phone time can easily be off by a second or more, which is enough to make a difference (unfortunately).

We failed at 7am on 8/4, but got BG 96 at 1pm and were called back around 5:30. I'm not sure what we did wrong at the first drop, either. It's just one of those things. I used my data at the 1pm drop.

Ugh!! Rise of the resistance has been down all morning. We have BG 16.

Interesting, the MDE app and thrill-data.com aren't showing any outages and both say they are up to BG 38.

Doesn't mean it's right; I'm just sitting here at home reading stuff on the Internet.

I’ll update my post. We tried at 1 and got in group #105. When we initially were assigned to the group the wait time indicated about 4:30. During the afternoon the time kept getting pushed further and further back and they eventually called our group at 7:08. We were eating dinner when it came through so didn’t get there until right about 8:00. Just made the hour deadline. When we checked in they were taking groups up to #115. There were so many people hanging around the area waiting for their groups to be called. We talked to one family that had a number in the 140s. I wonder if they ever made it on.

We saw that long line at 8:00pm

Sunday BG 4
Today BG 5

Atomic clock really is the difference as it says my phone is about .88 seconds off.

Hopefully no "disturbances in the force" like Sunday where they moved us ahead in the story back stage. My boy hasn't experienced the full uninterrupted attraction yet.

We skipped a part yesterday. The people in front of us filled us in on what was supposed to have happened. We are going to try again Friday just so we can get the whole experience.

The day we arrive (flight from Canada August 21) is one of our Hollywood Studios days.

I just got notice that our flight got pushed out to later that morning. This means we're likely to miss the 1pm HS window by a few minutes. Sigh ....

I was thinking of trying to obtain a Boarding Pass at 7am, hoping we could get lucky/boarded some time after 1pm - we will be at HS by about 1:30 / 2pm.

Wondering .... if we miss our boarding group time ... has anyone had any luck in speaking with a CM and falling on one's sword/begging to be allowed on later in the day?

I know, I know, it's not good form ... just wondering if anyone has heard of anything like that being allowed?

Cheers

Hi everyone-I asked this question back in July and no one responded.

Wondering if anyone had missed their boarding group window but was still allowed to get on the ride?

Thanks!

It has happened but there is no guarantee you will be allowed to ride and it's a case by case basis.

If you miss for a booked dining reservation or appointment at Savi's then you will normally be allowed to ride. If you miss for other reasons the CM may turn you away. If the ride is having a rough day and they're trying to get through the groups, you may not be allowed to ride. Personally I would not miss my window unless I had proof of why I missed it and that it could not be avoided.

We had BG 65 yesterday. Ride was down multiple times. I would see our est time go down to 30 minutes then back up to 60. Got to the group before us and was at 10 minutes before going back to 50 minutes. We were finally called at 3, got partway through the ride only to be escorted off when it went down again. We were given fast passes to return later. We returned at 6 to walk on.

The people in front of us yesterday apparently missed their window and a loud argument ensued. One of their party was rude and demanding and eventually they were allowed on. I wouldn’t cause a scene like that to be allowed on.

Thanks for the info. If it comes down to it, my plan is to kill them with kindness as I fall on my sword and beg for forgiveness.

Cheers

A much better approach than the one described! As the PP mentioned, if you have a valid reason such as an ADR conflict or other reservation, you will almost surely be allowed to ride. Otherwise it certainly can't hurt to ask nicely.

Has anyone helped family and friends get a BG by signing into your own account from home?

My cousin and his family are going to DHS in October and I'd like to try to help them get a BG. I will not be on the trip with them. If they are listed in my family and friends, will I be able to try and get a BG for them or will I need to sign into one of their accounts?
I did this for my cousin back in April and secured her party boarding group 1 on two different days. I signed directly into her account to do it though.

So is there any way to ride Rise of the Resistance if your method of park going is to go in the evenings? We stay a long time and usually lunch at the resort and swim and go to the parks from 2-4 to close depending on how long the park is open. If I read correctly, even if you have a park reservation you can’t try for the 1pm unless you have already tapped in?
Could I go tap in the morning and come back out even though my family hasn’t and then try at 1pm for a boarding group?
thanks

Everyone who wants to ride needs to tap into the park before 1pm. Once you have all tapped in, you can leave the park and attempt to join the virtual queue from anywhere.

As @ENJDisneyFan said, all members of your party must have gone to DHS by 1PM and tapped in to try to get a BG at 1PM.

Another option is to try for a BG at 7AM but it would be extremely rare that a 7AM BG would not be called until the evening.

There isn't really an option to ride if you don't want to arrive at the park until evening.
