At a playgroup this morning I spoke to a Mum I know who said that the water isn't heated at Blizzard Beach (and she thinks Typhoon Lagoon) and her 2 year old wouldn't go in (this was about a year ago).
She went in May (like us) and the water was freezing.
Is this true?

Im not 100% that it is heated but I think it is in the winter months. Ive been to them in December and it has been really hot, the water temp was fine, I don't remember it being cold, it was just nice to cool off. I wouldnt worry about it being cold, its sooo hot there that you will be desperate to get in!

i went in january and yes it was a bit chilly then but once you were in it was fine so i guess you would not have a problem when you go in may.
Hope i was some help

I've been in march, september, october and november and whilst its not as heated as the hotel pools (too hot as far as I'm concerned) its warmer than the 'real' water in typhoon lagoons shark reef which is sea temperature and that is really cold (has to be for the fish and sharks).
I like the temp as it encourages you to move a bit whereas the hotel pools are so hot they're like baths and you feel all relaxed and sleepy in them

We have been in May and water was fine a bit cool compared to pools over here but we were so excited and there's so much to do, youj ust forget about it.
Have a great time

Thank you everybody.
Doesn't sound half a bad as I was lead to believe. The lady said to me if I didn't already have admission included in my tickets don't bother to pay to go there....!

Noooooooooo! You definately have to go there! The theming at the waterparks is fantastic, its like being in a tropical oasis, they really are that nice!

the water is heated all year round,What you tend to find is when its hot weather the water feels colder than the air temp

Trust me....you wouldn't get Americans stepping into water that wasn't heated :joker:

thanks all.
I have been to typhoon lagoon six years ago and loved it, don't remember it being cold either.
This raises a further question, what is your favourite water park? which is best for my dd4 and dd1.5?
thanks.

Definately Typhoon Lagoon for little ones.
Lots more shade and pools they can splash in.
Blizzard beach is a great park but much more water rides.

Been in both February and July, water was fine in these months. However, we found it was colder in February waiting about to go down slides than in July obviously.

Blizzard Beach fountains round the lazy creek are freezing no matter was time of the year you go and for that reason prefer Typhoon Lagoon. Nothing worse relaxing in ring to be suddenly soaked with icy water, brr!
