Last December I had foot surgery and was Non weight bearing in a wheelchair for 3 months. We went to Disney in March. I went to guest services and spoke with a CM about a GAC. I know I did not need one for the wheelchair. The problem is I am claustraphobic and I sometimes panic when I'm in a situation where I personally can not get to an exit. Ive been to Disney alot and I do ok, I know which rides to avoid. Being in the wheelchair with my husband pushing I did not want to take any chances. I explained this to the CM, the CM after speaking with someone else was great he gave me a GAC to use an alternate entrance.

We have been planning a trip to Disney for 6 months, we have friends flying down to meet up with us the week between Christmas and New Years. This is the only time they could go. Well, I know have needed another surgery that could not wait. So I am back non weight bearing in a wheelchair. We did not want to cancel the trip as it has been paid for and we are excited to see Disney at christmas. Do you think I am going to have a problem with a CM assisting again with GAC. I still have the old GAC in my scrap book, should I bring that. Should I bring a doctors note. I just want to make sure I have everything I need.

Thanks for the help

I always bring the GAC from the previous trip. You don't NEED it, but I feel more secure just saying - "this is what I still need" while handing the CM the old one.

Having a doctor's note is useless. As long as you are able to explain your needs, that is all that is required.

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. Post #6 is all about the GAC.

Or, if you want an easier route to the FAQs, click on the link in my signature.

I just bring in my old GAC and just tell them everything is the same. They take the old card back and give you a new one. I haven't had any problems with getting a new card.

Have a great trip.
