Temp taking when WDW reopens

Read the Constitution. They cant do that

There's nothing in the Constitution that addresses private businesses screening who is entering their private property. The Constitution defines what our government is allowed to do. There are actions being taken by state and local governments now that are clearly violations of the Constitution, and it will take a while for that to work its way through the courts, but even if the local, state, or federal government mandated temperature checks before entering Disney World, it would be difficult to prove that is a violation of the Constitution. You could argue it is a violation of the 4th Amendment as an unreasonable search, but given that we are in the midst of a pandemic, saying a temperature check is unreasonable would be a difficult argument to make.

But back to the OP, I agree it is too soon to worry about this. I do think it's possible there will be temperature checks when the Disney parks reopen, but I don't see it as a permanent thing and you could go at a cooler time of year.

I wonder whether it would be a Human Rights issue/legal. I am not a medic and so may be talking twaddle, but aren’t there lots of reasons why body temperature goes up and down? What about women having menopausal flushes? And what would stop people taking over the counter medication that reduces temperature, just in case? It seems like an iffy idea to me.

In any case, I would recommend visiting Guest Services outside the parks, ... have them issue a DAS to get you through the gates of the parks.

Edited the statement to get to what I want to ask - a DAS does not get anyone through the gates, so you mean get a DAS outside the park so you don't have to queue inside the park to get one? They don't always issue DAS outside the park.

........
Unless that sort of investigation (normally just taking a temp and waving you through) is mandated as part of a 're-opening' strategy.

In any case, I would recommend visiting Guest Services outside the parks, let them know what's up, hang out there for a while if needed to let kiddo cool down, then get scanned there and have them issue a DAS to get you through the gates of the parks.
Guest Relations outside of the park is after guests have gone thru security. IF they do temperature screening, the most logical place to do it would be at/before security screening.

DAS is not always issued at Guest Relations outside of the parks, especially in the first few hours of the day when they are busy dealing with ticket issues that need to be resolved before they can enter the park.

The accommodation provided by DAS is ability to wait outside of most regular attraction lines. It isn’t used anywhere other than attractions.

I am going to close this thread at this time because it’s just conjecture on something that may or may not happen. It can be discussed again if there is more information. The parks in Southeast Asia are likely to open earlier than the US parks.
If they do temperature screening, that information can be used to help figure out what might happen in the US. Even if they do temperature screening in other places, it may not be done or may be done differently in the US.
