Tell me your Favorite thing about POR...

I'm gonna cheat too as I cannot pick just one thing about the resort. As you can tell from my signature, I've been there OFTEN! ::yes::

Absolutely gorgeous grounds - phots ops galore
Great food court - if you go a little earlier in the am it's very quiet
Bob Jackson's show (yehaa bob) - we go multiple nights cause we love him!
The boat ride to DTD - very relaxing and laid back - good view of the treehouses
Redone rooms are very nice - got lucky last year and got one
General store - well - shopping - enough said!

POR just feels like home to us! You can always PM me if you have any specific questions about POR - more than happy to share!

Have a great time on your upcoming trip - we'll be there in Oct and cannot wait!

Wow its hard to say what my one favorite thing is. I like so much about it. I love how relaxing it is. Even though its a large resort, the strolls through the grounds are wonderful. It just always feels like home when I get there!

The boat and bicycle rentals
The boat ride in the evenings to DTD
The lounge. "Jack and 7 Up"
The landscaping

Yep...what they said. The lounge has REALLY good Bloody Mary's as well. It was very tranquil and relaxing. The buses to MK were so efficient when we were there. I loved everything about it.

Are the carriage rides worth the money? It will be Dh and my 10th anniversary and we were going to go for supper while his sisters and parents watch our 4 children and then come back to the resort and do a carriage ride....he is not completely convinced...help me convince him.

Absolutely!

Last year, I took two young couples and babysat the kids.

The one couple paid for the other couple to go on the carriage ride, and....... lo and behold, the time just felt right and a proposal of marriage ensued.

I can just sit here and hear the clip-clop of the hooves of the horse on the pathway.

By the by, I am going to their wedding next month!:goodvibes

My 8 year old says: that you can go fishing and that there are 3 pools

My 6 year old says likes to be in the pool

My 4 year old says: the waterslide.

Mom says: the food court (good options!) and that it fits a family of five for a great price!

This trip we are trying the boatride to downtown Disney AND Yeehaw Bob. So I may change my answer in a few months!

That is too funny. Last year, we surprised a five year old the night before we left. She just kept looking at us with this glazed look over her eyes, like she could not comprehend what we were saying. We got no reaction at all from her. Not the fact we were going to Disney World, she was going on a plane, we were going to see Mickey and Minnie. Nothing.

Then we said there were six pools; and she went nutso..... that's what finally got her. It was the end of November and she was going swimming.

we visited friends staying there a few years back,(they actually disliked the place) I thought it was lovely! nice, relaxed grounds and atmosphere...quiet walking trails to Alligator bayou that look like old Florida...the great swimming pool- we ordered papa johns pizza and had a party in the food court...YeeHa Bob plays in the lounge 4 nights a week (he is not to be missed) Boatwrights is a nice restaurant...... I like the whole resort!

I went with two couples and two children last year. Normally I travel alone.

Yee-hah Bob starts his Christmas show the week before I go, so he is all fired up when I get there the Saturday after Thanksgiving. That is my yearly ritual, to start off the week with him and then wait until Wednesday when he returns and see him the rest of the week until I leave.

That was my little "quiet" time away from the rest of my traveling companions. I had my lounge time and they hung out at the pool all evening.

ok, I have to ask, LOL. Who's this yehaa bob character? LOL. free show at POR or FQ?

It's just so peaceful and beautiful. The river, the jazz music, everything about it. After all the excitement in the parks, it's just so soothing to come back to such a peaceful place!
