So we'll be needing to rent a vehicle for 2 weeks. What's the best price you have snagged for 2 weeks? What size car? And with who? ?

In January we paid $164 (including taxes and fees) for an economy car for two weeks. It was from Avis but we booked through Costco Travel. I think you need to be a Costco member. I must have rebooked three or four times until I ended up with this rate 9 days before leaving. Next time I'll request a compact rather than economy. They wanted to give us a 2-door Mini Cooper, which would have been cool, but we had a lot of luggage and no way would it have fit. They ended up upgrading us to a compact at no charge, but said the only way to guarantee a 4-door is to reserve a compact or larger.

Back in May I booked a standard car for my November/December trip - the rental is for 12 days for 313.29 from Alamo used the VROOM VROOM code (299851)

Thanks. The code isn't valid for me

April of 2012 I got a 12 day rental with Alamo for about 180. It was via Costco for a premium car (they had some kind of crazy special). When we got there they were out of Premiums so directed us to pick whatever car we wanted out of the SUV aisle. We got a Mazda Cx9 - 7 passenger SUV that was loaded.

I figure chances of that happening again are pretty slim

are you putting it in as the contract ID?

Yes but we're going in 2014 so maybe not valid then? ?

I used Hotwire to get a 10-day rental starting July 31. The rate for a full size car is $254. You can't see the rental agency until you pay for the reservation. It ended up being Hertz.

My good rental deal is not actually for 2 weeks, but is for 13 days. I snagged $240.00 for a Standard with Alamo at MCO. This will most likely give us a Fullsize car since there is no "standard isle" at MCO. This was using Alamo Insiders membership and a Visa code for $30 off a rental (providing it's paid for with a Visa of course :-). :thumbsup2
