Looking for advice on a close place to eat after finishing the day at the Animal Kingdom Park. Only catch is that it needs to be on the dinning plan.

Thanks!!!

Head over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge!!

I LOVE Jiko, but that's 2 TS meals... but I think Boma (the buffet) is only 1!

Enjoy! :thumbsup2

We were going to do Boma, but DH wanted to try Cape May Cafe. So we're just going to take the bus from AK to Beach Club, and give that a try.

My vote would be Boma or Jiko. Great food. You can get Zebra Domes at Mara? (I think that is the name of it) for a snack credit on the dining plan too! All at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

We wanted to try something in the Boardwalk area this trip. Having never been there and always saying we will. I made reservations today at Big River Grille & Brewing Works. I figured my husband would love to try the different beers there and my kids would enjoy walking around the Boardwalk.

I think the best end to a day at AK is a visit to AKL. Boma is one of Disney's better buffets and yes, it is 1 TS. We will be trying Jiko for the first time on our Aug. trip.

We are also going to Boma's after AK. I have always wanted to see the AKL. We will wander around afterwards and take in all the theming!!

Just don't go to the Rainforest Cafe. Really bad.

I got to agree with those who said head to AKL - its great to wonder around after a day at AK. Boma is good, if you like to try different foods - enjoy :goodvibes

I was thinking Rainforest (I've eaten there before and the staff and food were excellent) but I'm now thinking you guys have the right idea, I think I'll take the family to Boma . . . after checking a menu and seeing if the hubby will actually eat anything there, the picky *muttered cursing* ;)

Well hmmm I guess I don't feel special anymore... We picked Boma after AK and it was great :)

Lots of good ideas. I must admit I am not much of a buffet person. Please don't flame me, but I have seen way more that I wanted to happen on buffet lines. Plus after a long day at the park, I really like to sit and relax a bit and let someone bring me the food. :cool1:

Now having said all of that, the seafood at Cape May sounds good. (Actually sounds like they have more of a selection of what I enjoy than the Coral Reef)...but not so sure about seafood on a buffet? Any feedback on Cape May ? :confused3

I'm not fond of the AKL restaurants. Because AK tends to close early, I'd make it a hotel restaurant night. If you can splurge for 2 credits, any of the signature meals. I'd actually pick on two criteria, a resort you want to see (AKL is very cool, but we need to visit the Poly every trip) as well as food you want to eat.

Since AK closes so early when we're going (5:00), we're heading up to the Contemporary to eat. The way I see it, on your AK day you can go pretty much anywhere you want to eat that you can't (or don't want to) make it to on your other park days to eat. Whether it be at a hotel you want to visit, the Boardwalk, or DTD. I would just check the menus and see where you want to go!! I'm debating myself if we should stick with Concourse or make it a DTD night.

Well, I can tell you what our family has planned. After our day at AK we are hopping on the bus back to Poly for dinner at 'Ohanas! YUM!! :sunny:

Since we will be staying at AKL, we are heading over to the HDDR after our day at AK!

We always have dinner the night of our AK visit at the hotel where we are staying. That means it is usually WCC. We try for an early dinner then we go swimming after. For us, it is a great way to end a day.
