this trip my 4 yr gd is going ,i know my grand son 11, loved the lab but what will she do?
thanks

DD was 4 last year she enjoyed the club for certain events but did not stay as long as DS 11 did. He really enjoyed checking himself in and out and spent almost every evening at the Lab. She really enjoyed the time that Mickey visited and they did the Mickey Mouse March. She ususlly found 1 event a day that she wanted to do in the club. Most of them were about an hour. We didn't really care one way or the other as we had no real "adult" time planned. (DH and I are lucky enough to get a trip alone every year) I think next year when she is 6 and has been away from me at school she will feel more confident about being in the clubs. I thoght the staff was great and there are many different things offered for the kids. :teeth:

Our first cruise our DD was 4, and LOVED the clubs...She loved just about everything, the princesses, the PJ party, playing on the slides, movies at night...She made friends easily, and they kind of STUCK together throughout the cruise...She did not eat with the clubs, as I find this too young, and want to know exactly what she is and is NOT eating!!!

She was 5 on our other 2 cruises, and loved the clubs as much or more, and ate a couple of times with them, but more or less with us, and we would run her up to the clubs when she was done..

I think that she went the first night (on a suggestion found here) and that was a great barrier breaker, she met many children right off the bat, and they almost timed themselves to meet there.

I am sure she will love them...They really cater to the kids.. :goodvibes

On our May repo cruise, DD was 4 and loved everything about the club. This was our first cruise and we had prepared DD for the club by watching the video of the club and telling her about all the activities she could participate in. We met two different families while we waited to board the ship and the three girls were friends the entire cruise! It was so cute! If your granddaughter is social, make an effort to meet as many other families with kids as possible. This will make her experience much better. Also, go to the club the first night, that is when most friendships are formed. We did allow DD to eat with the club and she preferred this to eating with us, although we only let her do this a couple of times.

Hope this helps! :sunny:

My DD's were 3 and 4 at the time, and their favorite things was playing on the pirate ship. They also enjoyed the crafts and character visits. Too bad they really didn't start liking the Club until the end of the cruise.

My daughter was 4 last year on the Magic, and wanted nothing to do with us once she saw the club. She LOVED it -- loved the crafts, loved eating with the other kids, loved the special character meets, loved the movies . . . everything. I don't know if you've seen the club, but it's mind-boggling how cool it is -- things to climb on, dress up, constant games and crafts. I've considered trying to pose as a kid just to spend some time there.

We've done 2 cruises - the first my DD was 3 1/2 and the second she was 5 1/5. Both times she was addicted to the Club and it was sheer force to get her out of there for pool time and other things. She loved doing meals with the group, the dress-up time, movie time at night, and all of the individual activities. I've only been paged once when she was 3 1/2 and was not wanting to stick with the group. I told her she'd have to come with me, and she promised she'd go along with the flow after that. That was the end of the paging. Next time DD will be in the Lab and DS in the Club - I only hope he enjoys it as much!

ours turned 5 on the cruise and enjoyed the club only for a certain amount of time. she did enjoy the pirate ship and crafts but that was really about it. we took her to the lab one day and she enjoyed that more. go figure. for the most part both her and her brother wanted to be in that mickey pool and hang out with us! which was fine by us. I expect by the next time we cruise it may be a different story.

My DD4 is in preschool every day from 8 - 2 and LOVES it. She's very social. I'm guessing she'll have a blast in the clubs and am planning on it being a mini-daycare for me. I'm a little worried hearing from the families whose little ones didn't want to stay in the club. For those of you whose kids did not enjoy the clubs, are they in regular preschool? Or was it new to them?

Sue, my DD was only at school 2 mornings a week before the trip. Other than that she had always been home with me. She started pre-K the week after we got home. Also Grandma and Grandpa were on the ship. We had a great time together, there are activities for the whole family to do together and she loved the pool. I could have encouraged her more and she most likely would have went along pretty happily but as I said we just didn't care too much, as this was the family vacation and we had an adult trip to Vegas just a couple months later. The clubs are really fun and the staff seemed good about pulling in the shy kids and getting them involved. :goodvibes

The first time we were on the Magic was Dec. 03. My daughter ADORED the club. I had to drag her out every night. She loved the movies, she still talks about the time someone got her a "special chair" so she could see the movie when someone taller was blocking her. She loved the Do-Si-Do with Snow White, because at the time she was her favorite. She loved breaking into the dress up stuff and doing that. She made a friend that she played with all week long and so she had a friend to play with that she knew when we got to Castaway Cay. We had a beeper of course, but we were never beeped once. We tried to have dinner with her each night, but one night we left her in the club and they take all the kids who are there at dinner time to dinner in a special hallway so that they all stay together and never mingle with any other people onboard, so they don't get into any crowds. I can't say enough about the program, it is the best of any cruise ship I have ever been on (alot).
