Tell me what you like and don't like about your home resort!

I just got the information from DVC and my mind is swimming with info :hippie:

I am also considering AKV now because I forgot that they sleep 5 in a one bedroom. I really love the location of BWC and BCV :lovestruc but I am so torn.

Thank you guys for all your help! I love hearing what other people think.

We have two home resorts (well actually 3 but we've never stayed at Vero so I really cannot comment on it).

We love BCV. We stay at the 1 bedrooms, we love the rooms. It's spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 children. We love the SALB and as most have mentioned LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.:cool1: :cool1:

We also have AKV points. We have stayed at AKL 6 Years ago (this was the reason we bought into DVC in the first place) and was so excited that they are offering it to DVC members. We loved the theme and rooms but we were not too thrilled with the pool. We did have the savannah view when we stayed, but found we enjoyed walking around more to see the other animals. The only other thing I would mention is that we were a little unhappy with the location. We found that it took a long time going everywhere. And we couldn't even walk to AK! :confused3 However, we are excited to be staying at the AKV for the first time in a couple of months.

Home Resort - OKW
Love the relaxed atmosphere and mature grounds (beautiful landscaping)
Dislike - I don't mind walking, sometimes. (Boy, it's a huge place if you don't have a car)

2nd Favorite Resort - Boardwalk
It's the best if you want to be in the thick of it!
Dislike - It's busy & noisy!

3 home resorts:
BWV~ love just about everything  views, location, pools, atmosphere, nightlife, walk to EPCOT/ferry to MGM, decor
don't like: bus sytem (shares with swan/dolphin)

BCV: like: location (near BW:thumbsup2 ) & walk to EPCOT/ferry to MGM, art the doorman, ally the alligator :) , exterior decor
dislike: no worthwhile views, noisy lobby, overly crowded SAB, no nightlife of its own, interior decor

SSR: like: elegance, cleanliness/newness (of common areas as well as resort buildings/rooms), small town feeling, artist pallete, walk to DTD :cloud9: , close parking, great bus system
dislike: can't walk to EPCOT ;) , walks can be long for some so might need a car (btw, we did have a car, but enjoyed the walking :confused3 ), much of the greenery is still immature

I love the unit sizes and light bright rooms at OKW. I also LOVE the huge porch with the dining table and chairs on it and the ceiling fan. It's my favorite spot to be in all of Disney! I just love sitting out on that porch drinking my morning coffee or tea and watching the wildlife, or canal, or golfers (depending on which view we have). I also love that OKW has a real laundry room in each unit with full sized machines. It is also the only DVC resort at WDW that has full sized appliances in the kitchen. Love the peaceful suroundings and the fact that I can get away from the mahem of the parks with a quick easy bus ride to OKW. I find it much easier than walking to two parks.

My other "home" is AKV, but I haven't stayed there yet, so I'll let you know what I think of that after March.

I want to stay at OKW just for the balconies and patios. I love the idea of cooking up some burgers and eating outside. I just wish it was closer to the parks.

I've stayed at AKL (not the DVC but a reg. room) and loved it. I don't find the lobby to be dark at all and it was probably one of our more relaxing trips. There are little nooks and crannies that Rob can get away and relax at - plus you've got the bonus of the animals.

It is far removed from everything - but that is part of what I like about it. Plus you'll get the extra years - and sleeping for 5 which you need.
