Tell me what to do in Chicago! St. Patty's Parade?

This thread is making me SOOOOOO homesick! And I haven't lived there in 24 years!

Chicago = Pizza, you must do Unos or Ginos

Chicago = Second City, my vote for night time entertainment.
I was a regular in the early '70's. Saw Bill Murray's first perfromance there and KNEW he was going to make it. My 'claim to fame' is that he thumbed his nose at me:rolleyes: ....it was part of the skit.....but still a treasured(?) memory :rotfl:

Hope the weather is OK for your trip...you never can tell in March.

If you are in town on 3/13, Gaelic Storm is playing at the House of Blues. They are a really fun Irish band who does a great live show. You might not realize this, but you know this band. That's right, you have seen this band if you are one of the gazillion people who saw the movie Titanic. They were the band that played in the steerage section when Kate danced on her toes.
Their web site is Gaelicstrom.com if you want more information.

PS, as a lifelong South Sider, I feel that I should tell you that the South Side Irish St. Paddy's Day parade is the most rowdy, beer soaked, crowded event of the year.

That's why we like it!

My mom lives in Beverly, the neighborhood where the parade takes place. She's only a half block off the parade route and we set up tables and chairs a couple hours before the parade. While our family and friends enjoy the parade my step-father makes great corned beef, cabbage, veggies, etc. We always have plenty of beer and irish coffee :).

I do not drive home to Wisconsin that night :).
