We are thrilled that we were able to cash in on the summer room only code, which enabled us to revise our 8 night POR stay to instead be a 5 night POR + 3 night Boardwalk Inn stay. The numbers worked out to result in us paying only $200 more overall to grab 3 nights in a deluxe resort. :cool1: :thumbsup2

Now, being the first time we are able to stay in a Deluxe, needless to say, we are beginning to get very excited :yay: to be not only visiting the Boardwalk area for just dining, but now will actually be staying there for the last part of our vacation!

For those of you who have stayed at BWI, I would love to hear any tips or ideas you would be willing to offer us Deluxe Resort "newbies" in hopes that we can make the most of this new resort for our family....We have even subtracted a day off the park tix we will be getting in order to be able to enjoy BWI even more! TIA for any info. :)

I haven't stayed at the Inn, but I have stayed at the Villas. It is my favorite resort! I love being just steps from the Boardwalk and all of the action! I really like the waterslide in the Luna Park pool. I'm so jeloous that you get to spend an entire day at the resort! Have a blast!

The best thing about staying at the Boardwalk, is being able to walk to EPCOT and MGM! And the cool swimming pool! and easy access to Beaches and Cream! I could go on and on. And oh yea, the rooms are nice too!

Ask for a room that faces the courtyard, and one that is NOT near the elevators. The elevators at BWI make a lot of noise. Aside from that, you will find that the resort is beautiful! My favorite thing is to get up early and run down to the Boardwalk Bakery and bring breakfast back to the room - croissants, danish, fruit tarts, cappucino, orange juice - yum!

Have breakfast or dinner at Spoodles, it's great.

I've only stayed at BWV's so I'm not sure of the layout on the rooms at BWI. If you can request boardwalk view, I would go for it. When we stay at BWV, we have always requested boardwalk view and the rooms come w/ a great covered porch where you can sit out and have coffee in the morning or hang out at nite and watch the fireworks at Epcot if you don't feel like heading back out to a park. There is the great pool w/ a kind of circus theme and there is a second quiet pool that is generally empty. There is a great store on the boardwalk that carries all sorts of Disney merchandise but they also have a fairly substantial mini mart which is so handy to pick up a few grocery items. There is a great activities center next to the quiet pool. There are a few video games, they have a fairly large collection of DVD's which you can check out for free, and they also offer great craft activities everyday. The craft projects cost next to nothing and they rarely get anyone participating so they are really excited when you show up. It was a great break from the parks for my neice and me. We had a blast doing the craft projects a couple afternoons when we were burnt out from being at the parks all day. Love the convenience of having the boats right out front to take you to MGM or Epcot. You will definitely want to go over to Beaches and Cream one afternoon for the kitchen sink. I will never forget the look on my littlest neice's face when they brought that thing to the table. We actually nearly finished it too, sorry to say. I love the sounds you hear while staying here: the arcade down on the boardwalk and the horns on the boats as they are getting ready to dock. Also love ESPN zone and Spoodles for meals. Can hit a park in the morning and then head back to your room for an afternoon swim or nap, and then head back out to a park for the evening. Jellyrolls is a blast for a bar, and this is coming from a non-drinker. The staff there is so friendly. In conclusion, you should love staying at the Boardwalk. It is one of my favorites. I always feel like I'm staying at a special resort that just happens to be located on Disney property.

We have stayed at the Boarkwalk Inn for two extended visits to WDW, and enjoyed it a great deal. I would advise you, at check-in, to request a room as close to the lobby as possible. This resort is huge, and it is quite possible to be assigned a room so far away from the action that you will wish you could set up a base camp for resting on the way to and from your room (especially after a long day at a park).

But I'm sure you will enjoy your stay there; it is super nice.
