Tell me some experiences when you took your 2 year old or younger, please. Good age?

Hubby and I have always started taking our children to Disney when they were between 18 months and two years. All three children "just know" that we do a yearly Disney trip. (Unless I am really far along in a pregnancy). :hourglass

Now that they are older, they love to see pics and video of themselves meeting characters for the first time. They don't necessarily "remember" the experience, but they are very familiar with what happened each trip thanks to the fact that DH and I are avid video/picture buffs.

Fortunately all three of mine are pretty go with the flow kind of people, so there was never really any stress involved. We paced ourselves (really, we sort of let the youngest among us set the pace). We both did really enjoy seeing each of our kids experience "THE MAGIC" for the first time...enjoy these days - they are so fleeting and so precious...

We took our youngest DD (we have a 9 yo DD as well) when she was 13 months old and again right after she turned 2. When she was 13 months she loved it (especially Playhouse Disney) and loved just being in the hotel and swimming. SHe loved looking at everything. We also did the 6 seater bike at the boardwalk and she liked that too. My kids do very well in restaurants so that was never a problem. She was a late walker (15 months old) so she rode most of the time. We didn't "overextend" her. We went by her schedule (with the exception of 1 night). SHe even did good on the drive from VA and back. She was afraid of the characters. This year same thing except she loved it all! She really got into the character meals and would hold hands with the characters (big sis had to hug them first to show her it was OK). SHe flirted with every male waiter we had. She loved the rides we went on. SHe walked alot around the resort and some in the park, but rode the stroller alot in the park. We only did 1 park because we did the 3 day cruise too. It was hot and we had a fan for her. Her favorite ride was Buzz Lightyear (a big Toy Story fan). On the cruise she loved the shows and would say WOW and clap with everyone else. It was just so magical it brought tme to tears to see how much she loved it. So what if she won'r remember it. I will. And we can go back and do it again next year!

My advice is to not pack everything into a few days. Go by your kids schedule as much as possible. It's hard because there's so much to do and we always feel like we need to do everything, but then we realize we can't and I'd rather do a few things and everyone be happy than to over do it and have a screaming toddler breakdown because we pushed her to her limit.

My son was 6 months old and my daughter was 2 when we first went. Of course we had "Grandma" along with us to help but we had a wonderful time! And we have so many great pictures along with all of the great memories. I personally see nothing wrong with taking the very young to disney. :flower:

Our DD was 3.5 months when she first saw WDW, (was in the belly at WDW before that ;) ) and is going on her 6th trip next week, all before the age of 4. Our DS will be 3.5 months old on our trip next week, (he went twice in the belly ;) ).

Not only has our daughter throroughly enjoyed each of her trips, but we have enjoyed ourselves even more because of her! (yes even the one at 3 months, her laughter and recognition of mickey was unbelievable) You will definately go lots slower than you may be used to, but it's so worth it, as every second is so much more magical. As long as you are prepared, and not disappointed if you don't fit in as much as you used to in a day. (The feeding and diapering take up lots of time for some reason)

Not only should you go because the kids will love it, but you will too! Especially, if you "get it"... as you stated, you love Disney, so you "get it". Have a great time!
