This is your chance to brag! What type of camera is it? What features does it have? What accessories did you get or have to have? How much does it weigh? What does it look like? What made you decide that that was the camera for you? :listen:

can't brag since i didn't design nor manufacture it but so far i love my newborn rebel xt...have not purchased anything but the body yet ( have a 28-80 sigma gettting upgraded for digital and 100-300mm lens from my old film eos...remote from my old eos, tripod from my old eos, filters ...you get the picture.) planning on the 18-125 sigma lens as soon as i can. then probably a flash. i love the color, the speed, really everything about it so far, even the software that comes with it

nothing special.

my walkaround gears:
Canon 30D + vertical grip + 4 batteries. (best feature: spot meter and clean high ISO)
Canon 17-55 f/2.8 IS lens
Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS lens
Hoya Super HMC 77mm UV0 filters for both lenses above
Sigma 18-125 lens
Sigma EX 62mm UVo filter for the above lens
Canon 50mm f/1.8
Hoya rubber hood for the above lens (no filter... since it will cost more than the lens)
7x 512 MB Sandisk Ultra II cards (yes, down from 11)
2x 2 Gb Sandisk Ultra II cards
Metz 54 Mz 4 flash
8 sets of 4 of rechargeable 2500 mAh NiMH batteries + 1 quick charger + 1 super quick charger
Gary Fong LightSphere I
Gary Fong LightSphere II - Clear (if I'll ever got it, almost 2 weeks and still waiting)
a couple of Manfrotto tripods (2 sizes, depending on my needs)
Canon A95 P&S
Fuji A345 P&S (that drinks battery juice like there's no tomorrow)
Tamrac Velocity 9 as my main bag (plus several other bags, depending on my needs)

My studio gears share the same lenses and flash but plus about a dozen muslin backdrops, lights, Canon 5D, that's it.

Well, I certainly can't compete with Kelly, but OTOH, I dont' make my living with a camera. My cam is a lowly Fujifilm Finepix S5200, 5Mpixel, 10X zoom, ISO 64 to 1600. Overall, pretty happy with it, given purchase price of around $225 after rebate. I've had it for about four months now, and really looking forward to giving it a real workout in about three weeks at Mickey's World. I'll post a link to some of the results here, when we get back.

Edit: Forgot to add that I also have a Canon Optura 30 camcorder that takes 2Mpixel stills, and does not do a half bad job. Results, taken at Mickey's World, on two separate occasions (December 04 and July 05...mostly the former) are here:

Well, er, I'm currently using a Canon Powershot A60 that is only 2 mega pixels, but it has a lot of features and hasn't let me down yet.

I'm not a professional and have no desire to be. I feel like I can take pretty good shots with just about anything and it's going to suit my personal needs. Just something with which to record important events in my life!

I used to be able to snag a photo pass to big concerts (back when I was doing music journalism full-time) using only a simple Pentax point and shoot, and that thing gave me some great pictures.

I really don't care much about fancy... obviously. ;)

I figure if I'm going to spend hundreds of dollars on something I don't really need, it's going to be clothes and shoes. :p I don't even utilize all the features of what I have now. No way I'm going to bother with buying something else until I have no other choice!

I currently have
Nikon D50 6.1 mega pixels
Nikon 18-70mm
Nikon 50mm 1.8
Quantrary 70-300mm 4.5-5.6
SB-600 speedlight flash
3 1 gig SD Cards (kingston, viking and SanDisk)
1 travel tripod (13 1/2 in folded, 48in full)
1 regular tripod (don't know name, have had it over 10 years)
1 table top tripod

Also have:
Canon S30 3.1 mega pixel P&S
1 128mg CF card, 1 512mg CF card

Nikon N70 film camera
Nikon 28-80mm
Quantrary bounce flash (isn't very compatable with the D50)

LowePro OffTrail camera bag.

I'm upgrading my telephoto zoom later this year. I've preordered the new Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 ED-IF AF-S VR. Should have it at the beginning of November. Next year I'm planning on getting the Nikon DX 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 ED-IF AF-S as my main walk around lens. This will replace my 18-70mm.

Then sometime in the next few years I'm going to get the Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 ED AF.

Nikon D70s
Nikon 28-80mm F/3.3-5.6 G Lens

I hope to be getting a Nikon 70-300mm lens with in the next week or so.

I went SLR years ago, but I took the minimalist approach.

My current camera is a Canon Digital Rebel 300D. I went with this one instead of the newer Rebel XT because it's physically larger (I have big hands and need something to hold onto), and because I was able to get a very good price on it after the XT came out.

Its great hearing about your camera babies and what goodies you have for it. I have small hands and and short. Hopefully, using what I get will be easy to work with and it won't weigh me down too much (4lbs. mininmum).

I use the canon S70. It meets the most important requirement: it fits in my pocket. I like the ease of use and the wide lens.

I Have:

Rebel XT :)
18-55mm Canon
Tamron 70-300mm
Canon 28-105 USM
Slik tripod
wired shutter release
circ. polorizer
1GB Sandisk Compact Flash
2GB Sandisk Compact Flash
mini tripod
home made foil reflector (for flowers) ;)
In the near future:
Canon 50mm f1.8
