Tell me how you carry your stuff in the parks

No one has said anything about what I use Sooo... I will chime in here.

My favorite if it is not too hot is a fishing or camera vest, I swear mine has at least 1000 pockets. Seriously I can carry two sweatshirts, four bottles of water, Cameras and cell phone, small first aid kit and most everything we need without any trouble. It is nice as the weight is distributed more evenly than a back back. One other thing is they look at me and wave me through the bag check line.

Count me in ! I am a total advoctae of hands free light travel. everyone in my family wears a travel vest, and they are wonderfull.

my DH also wears cargo shorts.

Hmm- lots of food for thought...

I am thinking the girls can have a 'fanny pack' each- they are kids they can get away with it!!
My camera is quite big and some days I will bring the video camera too (gotta capture those DL memories) so I don't think a vest will be large enough...
I wont have DH with me so there will be no 'switching' so a light bag of some sort
Thanks so much for the tips- so appreciated
Any more?

Oh Honeybee -I meant to say -you make a fanny pack look positively glamourous-
Unfortunately I am more than twice your size so I don't know if I can carry it off quite like you...

Instead of multiple water bottles, you could just keep filling up 1. I can't think right now...waiting on coffee pot.

Jade,
When my son was younger (he's 13 now and refuses to wear a fanny pack!!), he had a small fanny pack that he packed his autograph book and a disposable camera in. The best part was that he would get the change (coins) from each purchase we made. It would go straight into his fanny pack. Then the next morning he would count up the change and go to the hotel's gift shop to exchange for dollars. That would be the $ that he got to spend for the day. It worked great for us. I didn't have the extra coin weight and he got $ each day!

I think any person can wear one. Disneyland isn't a fashion show so I wouldn't really worry about it. Even if (when) I gain weight (I've already gained 20 pounds in the last few years...haha), I'm still going to wear one. They are just so easy. If people look at me like I'm a dork....oh well. I'm comfortable so that's all that matters to me. And my husband doesn't care if I wear a fannypack either so it's all good. He's no more embarassed by me than he usually is...haha.

Elliefu, I love that idea about the change and fanny pack. It's unique, and it makes sense. Besides that, my 6-yr old would be thrilled for the chance to wear a fanny pack. Both of my boys would probably like that. Do they make child size ones? I actually read this entire thread, but don't remember anyone mentioning it.

Cute photo!

Unless I imagined it, there were children's fannypacks at the stores in Disneyland and Downtown Disney. I think they were cute ones like Nemo and stuff. But maybe I imagined it. Someone else may be of more help.

EDIT - I did a google search and found some. I only have 4 posts so I can put up links. But there was a Nemo one and a Stitch one. Not sure if they still have them but I'm sure they have something similar.

I would make sure that the child's fanny pack was big enough for the autograph book. My daughter's Dora one isn't. We went to WalMart today and we couldn't find a fanny pack in the entire store! I guess we'll stick with her small backpack... save that money for something fun at Disney!

Only days to go... :cool1:

any one buy the black one that says disney on the front from disneyshopping .com is it big enough. im planing on getting three.

So can you buy kids fanny packs at DL or should I buy them before we leave?

I did just order one yesterday. It is actually dark blue, and it was the pictures on this thread that convinced me to buy it. It's on sale for $12.99 and use code DISNEY15 to get an extra 15% off only with a Disney Visa.
