here it is...my final budget! i think we have done extremely well and i must say thank you to everyone here on the DISboards and the budget boards for the tips, hints and ideas- you have helped us save $672.00 so far - we still have some stuff to budget for but its just the basics here on out!

2 nts CR $453 - paid
3 nts clarion maingate - via priceline.com, $30 /nt = $108 with taxes, paid.
4- 3 day park hoppers, $690 paid
R/T non stop airfare for 4 from MKE to MCO $720 - paid
rental car for 5 days midsize ( sebring) $120.00

this all we need yet, and with 108 days left....we will be OK !

spending cash..$500
food & Misc $1,000 ( if we dont get that much saved thats ok- jsut shooting for extra)

pre trip ( first aid stuff and personal care,) and dog kennel- $100
i dont think i am missing anything so -
grand total- $3571

thanks again all, now i just wait a few more ( long) weeks to pick our plane seats ( 90 day mark) and start making the PS's we decided on -
i think october and november are going to be LOOOOOONG months of waiting !

It looks pretty good. I know that the BIG budget buster for us was tipping...tipping housekeeping, tipping the bellhops, tipping the skycaps, tipping the waitstaff, etc. That should be covered by your Food & Misc. but keep a careful watch on it or make up envelopes ahead of time for the ones that you know you'll need for sure.

But I think that you'll be fine. Have a great trip.

thanks mad4themouse......

we do have 2 mousekeeping envelopes already filled and put aside, i always forget about them .

i see you are going back! :) -
have a great time, are you have a big trip this time again or a short one? i always love reading how you prepared for you trips!

This is just a short, spur-of-the-moment trip. My DD and DS spent a lot of time tending to their little cousins during our last trip and I promised to make it up to them by going back.

The budget will be a little tight but much is already paid for.
  • The airfares ($116 for one ticket, 40,000 FF miles for the other 2 tickets)
  • Leftover PHPs plus my AP
  • Leftover meal vouchers to cover 6 meals for 3 people
Add into that the AP rate of $79/night for CSR (my DS's favorite) and I just had to jump on it. Now I just have to factor in the costs of ground transportation, a few meals and we'll be in good shape.

MFTM,

wHAT AIRLINES FOR ONLY 20,000 EACH WAY?

That was USAir. They're offering a 20% reduction in the number of FF miles needed on select flights beginning Spet. 15 thru the end of Feb. It requires a Saturday night stay and must be booked online. The number of seats is limited, as you can imagine. I had to play around with flights, using two browsers open to USAirways.com in order to get the great fare ($98 RT + taxes and fees) and the FF awards on the same flights. Their not my 1st choice of flights (leaving PHL @1:45 pm and returning at 6:30 am) but they are non-stop and they're cheap.

Your plane, hotel, car and tickets are fixed. It appears you have budgeted about $300 per day for food/souvenirs. You will probably spend less.
