Tell me everything you know about Homewood Suites Anaheim Resort at the Convention Center.. Please and Thank you...

OP here...

Can you still walk to through the Toy Story lot to get to the buses?

Our friends stayed here over the Christmas holidays... and they tried 2 days to walk through the lot, and the CM's sent them away... saying something about safety, and it's not allowed ...

Interested if anyone else has had this experience at Toy Story Lot recently?

I talked to a couple of friends that have stayed around this area, at the convention center for work. They all said it's hit or miss with them allowing you to walk through the lot...

Our friends that stayed in December, said you really need a back up plan such as Uber... and should not depend on being able to walk through the Toy Story lot...

From the Homewood Suites to the Disneyland entrance, an Uber would normally be less than 10 dollars. I often take Ubers from the park entrance to a hotels a little bit further than that along Harbor and it usually fluctuates from between 6 and 9 dollars before tip. Sometimes Lyft is cheaper than Uber. If you happen to leave when a big convention is getting out, its raining or some other weird surge is happen, then prices can get a bit crazy. But even then, I've never seen prices for a Disneyland to any Harbor hotel go up to 50 dollars in my dozens of trips and what your friends experienced was an extreme anomaly if they just got a normal Uber.

For the Homewood Suites, you also have other options such as walking to the Toy Story Lot, taking an ART bus or walking all the way to the entrance in the extremely unlikely situation that Uber is obnoxiously expensive. CMs do occasionally stop people from walking in/out the front of the Toy Story Lot. You can't really predict if/when this will happen because it depends on the individual CM and what they feel like doing in a particular moment. It's sort of like when one day, a part of the park is a fireworks viewing area and the next day some CM decides they want that exact same spot to be a walkway rather than a viewing area.

Hi Gelatoni...

My friends did not get a normal Uber, They had to get I think she said Uber XL or higher they needed a larger SUV - .. they had to get 2 cars to accommodate the whole tribe... 5 people with one being in a booster seat and stroller.. and the other car was for 6 people with the twins in booster seats, and double stroller... she said that they really wanted to skip messing with the booster seats, California law is very clear on this subject. She said that getting the booster in and out of the car was a pain in the butt for sure, and trying not to forget it... She said that the driver's seemed impatient with them, so they did tip well to make up for it...

Our friends stayed here over the Christmas holidays... and they tried 2 days to walk through the lot, and the CM's sent them away... saying something about safety, and it's not allowed ... She said that the Uber ride to the park was 50.00 bucks and yet back to the hotel on the first night was 35.00 dollars plus tip, the second morning, 40.00 plus tip, that night it was 40.00 plus tip... she said the third morning, they walked through toy story lot and that night it was 50.00 plus tip for Uber again, she said they were all so tired that they could not face walking another step,... they need a car for 5, plus stroller and booster seats... they had to rent 2 lockers each day to hold the booster seats and the jackets, She said that one reason they picked this hotel was to be able to walk... which did not happen except that one morning... plus the additional cost of 2 lockers each day was unplanned... she said that her other DD's family uber bill was all over the place as well... as low as 25 dollars one night, and then back to 50.00 the next morning...

Is this common with the Uber cost fluctuating?...

She agreed with the poster above about the breakfast... Her thoughts were.... pretty basic, and okay for her crew... she said it did the job of giving them something to eat, and get the day started... cereal for the kiddo's, and toast and coffee for the big kids ( adults)... she said they did not have any expectation of much more than that so they were all good with it.
I had no issues walking in or out off of Harbor. Going towards DL from the Homewood there is a sidewalk on the opposite end of the entrance (left hand side if you were driving a car in towards the booths). There is a little walkway about 50 feet off Harbor that brings you into the parking lot and you cut through that rather than walking past the booths. At night there was another entrance open to get out that was off the side closer to the hotel.

in this picture, the hotel is at the bottom. The top circle is the one I mentioned being open in the morning. The bottom circle was open at night. If those aren’t open, the sidewalk is what the arrow is pointing to. For me, I had no issues accessing the lot on either end of my trip. I am not a rope drop person though, so it could have some impact potentially. However, I will say the buses were MUCH busier this trip than we experienced in Denver. If we didn’t have a wheelchair, we would have waited a solid 30
mins or more to board a bus to leave for the park. The nice park is security is done there.

We stayed here from Jan 1-7 and there was never an issue to walk to the lot from Harbor. There is a sidewalk all the way in so it is safe to walk into the lot. I cannot imagine them closing off access as people are allowed to park and walk to Disney if they do not wish to ride the ART bus.

OP here,

After my DH and I talked about it last night, we are going to look around for another hotel. I think that we realize that are needs really are... so we are going to see whats available and go from there... I think that if it was just the 2 of us it would be fine and if it was just us that had to Uber it would be simpler. DH really doesn't want to have to worry and drag the booster seat along with us...

So today I am going to see what's out there, that can accommodate us better...

Thanks for your input...

Just stayed at the Majestic Anaheim Resort.
I will not be returning. It needs major room renovations, and there cleaning is sup par.

Any updates on this hotel? Reviews?
I have stayed here many times. The Hampton Inn Convention Center is my go to- BUT this is my second. I sleep better at the Hampton which is the only reason I opt for it first. They are I think owned by the same people because the staff has been at both hotels.

We did Homewood in August. They are in the middle of renovating. Dining area is closed and using backup area. Decent standard breakfast

Pool is open. Parking back portion is closed. Ev chargers on the south side front work fine and free with paid parking. Can keep car after checkout there so that's nice.

10minute easy walk to toy story security area.

Rooms are dated hence the renovation ongoing. Still.comfy beds and sizable
