Our next trip (Spring break or early summer) I’d like to scale down from our usual commando style touring & maybe try a behind the scenes tour.

However, they are so expensive! Have you found a favorite that you’d really recommend? Trip would include myself/DH/18 & 15 y/o sons.

Thanks!

Well, I have only done one tour.....so it is my favorite 8-)

In April we (me, DH, DS15, DS11) did Caring for Giants at AK. It was inexpensive :-) and a special experience. You will find plenty of reviews of you do a search.

Aside from learning a lot and enjoying the opportunity to really relax and watch the elephants..... I liked that we got away from the crowds for a bit without giving up a huge chunk of touring time.

There is a new rhino tour .... I hope it and Caring for Giants are both available for our next visit.

I've done Keys to the Kingdom and Marceline to Magic Kingdom. You're out for Keys if your son is not 16. Marceline was 3 hours and $49. I actually liked it better than Keys. The behind the scenes access you get at the Haunted Mansion with Marceline made it worth it to me.

Wild Africa Trek is an incredible experience. I couldn't possibly recommend it highly enough. I've actually done it twice now b/c I love it so much. Feeding the hippos, the walk on the "rickety" bridges (don't let this scare you-- I am a wimp and not at all athletic and I was fine), private safari truck that can stop depending on areas of interest, meal on the savannah, plenty of opportunities to interact with cast members and ask questions... I could go on and on and on. It's amazing and so worth it (in my opinion). I've also done Caring for Giants and it's a great option for a ~one hour/lower cost tour - small group, plenty of opportunity to ask questions, great vantage point. I did Keys to the Kingdom and liked it, especially the utilidors ... but as an avid Disney fan there was a fair amount I already knew.

I will put Marceline to Magic Kingdom on my planning wish list for Feb 2020! Question....the boys that will be with us will be 13 and 17. I expect them to split off from us on and off during the trip. If they reject the idea of doing the Marceline to MK tour, is there any content (in your opinion .... I know it's subjective) that would merit pushing them to join us??

I agree with the above, I liked Marceline better than Keys. Don’t get me wrong, Keys was great, but I liked the Haunted Mansion part to it. I’ve also done, the Segway tour at ft wilderness, the the Epcot Futureworld tour, the train tour as well as a backstage tour that’s no longer available at AK, as well as behind the seeds in Epcot.

They all are petty much great, you can’t really go wrong. Age restrictions will be a big factor on what you can choose. Have fun!

I’ve done the world showcase tour in Epcot, and the Keys to the Kingdom. I liked both, but the Keys to the Kingdom is hard to beat, for a huge disney lover like me.

I loved the backstage areas. So neat!

We’ve done most of the tours available. Wild Africa Trek is our ultimate favorite.
That is followed by the Epcot Segway tour that is no longer available. We liked Keys to the Kingdom; but it took the whole day. We’ve done 5 total animal kingdom tours. All of them are great.
