I have heard of these exercise videos but don't know much about them. Is there music to it? Do you do it on the regular floor or on a treadmill? Is it high or low impact, just walking or do they have you do other stuff? And lastly, where would I find them? Do any of the big name video rental places tend to have them?

I just ordered mine off of ebay for $12. They were new in the box and came with the stretchie. I start using them on Monday. I will let you know more then!! :thumbsup2

I think WATP is a fun thing to do. You do them on the floor and put as much enthusiasm in as you are able. You might try the local library to see if they have any to try.

I believe you can order off Amazon or the like if you determine you enjoy them. I've seen them in local stores that have sporting or exercise stuff.

Good luck and have fun with it.

definately start at your library -- but i think netflix has them too

i enjoy my WATP dvds, i would consider them low to moderate impact. the newest 5 miles is the quickest yet. the 1-2-3 milers are generally lower intensity. yes, there is music in the background, but you listen mainly to the instructor as the routine incorporates hamstring curls, kicks, knee lifts, side steps, and varying arm movements. each mile is about 15 mins (except the 5 miler has a couple faster around 12 mins)

hope you enjoy the workout!

Thanks for all the info everyone! It is very helpful to hear firsthand accounts of people who have used it. I will check the library--good recommendation! I am trying to do at least 30 min of working out 6 days a week so it sounds like the 2 mile one would be about right.

I know the Rogers library has a few, I think the Elk River one does as well. I would search the catalog online and reserve them, as they tend to be checked out, and those libraries are so small that they don't stock much.

Blockbuster and Netflix also have quite a few of them as well. I use a wide variety of them, I love them. Very easy to follow.

I've used a variety of the WATP videos. They're a good workout, at least for me. It's SO easy. I'm a big klutz, so a lot of workout videos don't work for me. My videos were hand-me-downs, but you can get the whole set from eBay or Amazon pretty reasonably. DON'T order from the official website as they're much more expensive than on Amazon. Leslie Sansone has written some good articles for Women's Day and a good book on walking. I got the book from the library. If your library doesn't have the videos or book, they can probably get it from interlibrary loan.

Paula Sue, it stands for Walk Away the Pounds and they are work out videos.

Erika, thanks for the local advice! I actually go to the Anoka library in Andover. I know, I'm nuts but I hate that Elk River library. For one thing their fees are too high and I tend to rack them up and they never have anything I want and no children's librarian to help make choices. Anyway.....I have one on request. I found one that the title says 30 minute walk so I figured I would give that one a try first. They have a lot of them in the county system and they allow videos to be checked out for 3 weeks which I really like.

If you can walk, lift your legs up a little bit while walking, step side to side some, or swing your leg from side to side you can do WATP. Its so easy you don't realize how fast the time flies.

Renting the WATP if you can is wise. I've got a set of Billy Banks Tae Bo collecting dust.

Have fun WATPs!

Ummm, yeah. I could see that. Apparently the one I requested at the library has a waiting list so I am going to go request another one. Can't hurt!

I used WATP this morning. I really liked it. It was nice for me because I am very out of shape but was able to live through this ;) . I did WATP about 8 hours ago with the stretchie that came with it and my arms are already sore. I am excited. I plan on sticking with the 1 mile video for a about a month at 5 times a week. My DDs exercise with me so that helps!!! :Pinkbounc

If you get around to ordering your own set go to deepdiscountdvd(dot)com. They offer free shipping and most of the WATP dvds. I started buying direct from them after discovering them on Ebay. Why pay shipping when you can shop from them directly?
