People do it different ways and you have to find an owner who you feel comfortable with as it’s a level of trust,
I will only transfer when I am paid 100% in full. Once points are gone, nothing can be done and DVC won’t get involved since we are not supposed to receive compensation.
Some owners do a 50/50 split. But, once that is agreed on, the owner transferring the points can call MS...some do a three way call...and ask them to be transferred to the other owner.
Since they can be seen online now, I think that helps with the one paying have access immediately.
Transferred points retain all their same rights so same UY, home resort and banking deadline.
Yes, you can bank them. You want to be sure if it is not the same UY that you own that they are going to be valid for a trip you are taking.
Also, if they are a different home resort, you can’t combine with your points until 7 months.
I have heard that using the home advantage with transferred points during the 7 to 11 month priority doesn’t work online and you still have to call. But at 7 months, very easy to use.
