We are thinking about taking a weekend around Christmas to visit disney. I am really interested in the Yacht Club concierge since it would be near the Osborne lights and the candlelight processional. Can anyone tell me about the yacht club? Is the concierge good. I have tried several times to do a search and it would not let me. Thanks for any info.

We stayed at the YC, concierge last Dec and will again this Dec. The CM's were great, they were fun to deal with. The lounge area was very nice (they have since redone it) the room we had over looked SAB. There were grapefruit type candy in our room upon arrival, yummy. The mousekeepers would leave towel animals and having the turn down service was nice also. The food in the lounge was fantastic. We would ask for water to take to the parks with us and they would give us as much as we wanted. We really enjoyed our stay there. We stayed at the Polynesian, concierge, this past July and the CM's just weren't as friendly. Still enjoyed the Polyneisan but liked the concierge service at the YC better. Hope this helps you.

We just returned from 5 nights at YC concierge after spending 2 nights at Universal's Royal Pacific Club level. The concierge service was great, however, we didn't get any towel animals (and I was quite generous with tipping mousekeeping - at least $5/day and $10 when my son wet the bed). Continental breakfast offerings were great as well as the afternoon snacks. The breadsticks wrapped in bacon were yummy! Kids loved the fruit rollups and P & J sandwiches. Evening fare was also nice but may not be for some picky eaters like my husband and sister-in-law. Friday night they had scallops wrapped in bacon - yummy again! Cordials and desserts were also good and well presented. This was our first time in YC concierge so I can't compare it prior to the renovations. The lounge still seems a bit small and it gets congested in the section where the food is displayed. I would say it is about the same size as the BC concierge lounge. The kitchen is not connected to the lounge and it was a bit inconvenient to request sodas and water. They tried to keep sodas in stock under a cabinet but it was usually empty. Judi had more success requesting water than we did and the water was in small glass bottles.

We had a wonderful time and I would recommend it equally with BC concierge. However, if ever considering staying off Disney- I highly recomend Royal Pacific Club level. Maybe it was because it is a new resort but the services were definitely a notch above YC/BC (with exception that rooms are a bit smaller). The lounge was also much bigger.

I think YC is a great choice for your Christmas weekend. It will be lovely especially around that time of year. Let me know if you have any questions. Have a wonderful time!

Wow, didn't realize they changed to glass bottles. Did they give you a hard time when you requested them? I guess I will have to bring along some plastic bottles to transfer the glass one into this December.

Judi-
It was more by gesture than anything they said when we requested water. Also, it took a long time to retrieve them from the kitchen compared to other requests. We stopped asking after the second day. They always had ice water in pitchers available. It was a minor thing and we still enjoyed their service.

Disneyhappy,
Thanks for the reply. I'm sure we will enjoy the service just as much this December as last. I drink water all day long so I hope they don't get tired of me asking. hb

(Ok, ready to get slammed) We do not care for the yc or the yc concerige. found the concerige, unfriendly, lounge had to request everything, pop, water, (we don't drink alcohol) (or coffee, tea) did not feel comfortable in lounge found it "stuffy". Housekeeping was ok, friendliess people up there. We would not do it here again. This was a few years ago, maybe it has changed? The lounge was very crowded when we went. mky:rolleyes:
