Tell me about the weather....December

It looks like we are cancelling our september trip .Now we are thinking december(MVMCP,decorations).. We have been during november ,sometimes it was warm enough to wear shorts during the day and we also have been during the end of january and we used our leather jackets.What is the weather like in december??...We plan to go from Dec 1-8... Will we need our heavy coats??

Bring the coats or at least warm jackets just in case. We have gone the beginning of December 2x. Once in 1998 and then last year. The decorations and special events for this time of year are wonderful. The first year (98) was warm and we wore shorts all day and into the evenings. I only found the early mornings chilly. Last year it was wacky weather. We had really warm and humid days (and one full day of rain) and two nights we needed coats and we had to buy me and our little DD a sweatshirts, since our jackets didn't cut it!

Even with the chilly weather we still did it all and had a great time. You just never know what the weather will be like there. You can always buy something, like we did. And since we are from NY we had warm jackets with us, since when we left, it was bitter cold here. Better safe then sorry.

December is such a great time there. It really puts you in the spirit and I think Epcot is just beautiful!

Too unpredicible to say.

I've been the first week of December in 2000 and 2001 and then again this December. In 2000 it was FREEZING most days and we used our winter coats and pants most days but especially at night. Then in 2001 it was hot and humid.

What I do is I keep checking the 10 weather websites to see what they are predicting and pack accordingly.

Other than the unpredicible weather, it a GREAT time to be at WDW!

We've gone the past 5 years the first or second week of December. In 1998, 1999 & 2001, it was beautiful - high 70's/low 80's, no rain. In 2000 as the others said it was cold, low 60's during the day, into the 40's at night. Last year was a mixed bag, some warm days, some cold, some rainy (1 day had 24 hours straight hard rain). I wished I had my winter coat one night at the Candlelight Processional. Our MVMCP the night before was beautiful, no jacket.

Part of whether or not you need a heavy coat is where you are from. We just finished a cruise to Alaska. Many people were very, very cold. I wore mostly jeans and a tshirt, sometimes a light weight polar fleece and didn't find it that cold. People who complained the most about the cold tended to be from the south Arizona, Texas, Florida. We have been to WDW about 5 or 6 times in December always 1st or 2nd week and never needed a heavy coat. The most we have ever needed was a sweatshirt and jeans and hardly ever that. Usually my shorts with a sweatshirt was the heaviest I wore. Many times it has been lovely, other times choose your day for the water parks based on t he weather forecast because 60 is a little cold for me in a bathing suit. I'm from MI, couldn't tell where you are from. So if you are from the south, you may need the coat. If you are coming from 20 degree weather, you probably don't.
