I'd love to hear some opinions of The Wave for dinner at the Contemporary. Good food, value, ambiance? Is it loud?

I just ate there, but for lunch, this past week. I met with the chef (Chef Laura) who was delightful and really cared about the feedback ( all of mine was positive, though). The flavors, the presentations, the price, ....all terrific. It is usually very peaceful, but there are families, so that varies with whoever might be there at the time. I happened to have the fish tacos and the Vegetable Curry. OH YUM! OOHHHH! YUUUMMMMM! Well done, Wave! Tim was my waiter and he was terrific and attentive without being over the top. Great restaurant! IMHO.

NOTE1: On the check-in level of Contemporary, past Front Desk, then left. The dining
entrées are a bit overpriced; service can be spotty, and food quality was only average.
Unfortunately, nothing to write home about or that demands a second visit. One problem
is food doesn't always come out as ordered, or hot. The restaurant is a quiet place to
eat as it doesn't seem to draw the loud kids or uncouth adults. To us, it is an OK place
to eat dinner, but nothing that rates a rave. The menu has American-type dishes versus
something abstract or exotic. We thought Lamb Shank and locally-sourced Pork Tenderloin
were very good, but were displeased with Oven Roasted Chicken and Beef Tenderloin. Trio
Desserts, with three samples on same plate, are pretty tasty. The good side is that the
bar is comforting and welcoming; a nice place to throw a few back. The eatery doesn't
exude "Disney", but atmosphere is pleasant.
.
NOTE2: Although mediocre for dinner, the breakfast buffet is one of WDW's best kept
secrets for both price and quality, the other being Trails End in Fort Wilderness.

We loved it. We went in the summer and after a LONG HOT day at MK, we needed to sit, cool off and rest. We decided to take the monorail to contemporary to try the Wave. It was delicious. It was not crowded at all, but it was kind of early for dinner, I think around 4:30 or so. Everything was fresh and good. I remember my kids got a sundae for dessert and it was a huge hit. They had ice cream, then little individual bowls of toppings so they could make it themselves.

I think the Wave is a great place to cool off and rest for a bit.

They have a great filet mignon and my son loved their swordfish. Food quality very high.

Only been to the Wave at lunch, it was good!

We've always had good meals there. The breakfast buffet is great too!

We've enjoyed dining at the Wave for both breakfast and dinner. In our opinion its a hidden gem. We find the food really good and its always been quiet when we were there.

We have eaten dinner at The Wave numerous times and never had a bad experience (this is probably the only restaurant that we visit trip after trip).

My husband and I have been three times. I'll go back every time that I'm at Disney. I am lactose-intolerant. Sometimes when I mention my dietary issues at restaurants, I feel like I've inconvenienced people, but the staff at the Wave did not make me feel that way, and the meals that I've been served there have been really awesome. In our experience, it's been an easy walk over from the Magic Kingdom for a relaxing, quiet meal that we can both enjoy.

So good it's one of the few places I'm willing to go to more than once (I try to do mostly new places every time I visit)

We have dinner there every trip-a good spot to get away from MK crowds for a while. We have dinner and then go back to the park for a late night. My favorites are the crab and shrimp cakes to start and then the Ashley Farms chicken with Brussels sprouts-they change up the sauce and sides.

Its a hidden gem IMO, all 3 meals being very good.

anyone have any photos of the dinner entrees? especially the chicken or the Beef tenderloin? thanks!

I think the wave is one of the most under rated places to eat at WDW. I try to eat there once every trip. It is in a great location being so close to MK and one the monorail loop. Also I have never had a bad meal there and the service has always been excellent.

With all do respect this is one of the best values for the type of food served.

1) I do respect your opinion.
2) I, personally, feel that dinner prices are slightly high, even for Disney,
. . . $24 - pork tenderloin
. . . $29 - lamb shank
. . . $22 - potato gnocchi
3) However, the breakfast buffet is probably the best value at WDW (and second only to Trails End Breakfast Buffet).

We loved it. My husband said it was the best meal of our trip. Had an amazing CM/waiter, too. Went for lunch on our MK day--almost empty restaurant, so it was super quiet. The bar area does get busy and, I suppose, comparatively louder in the evening.
