Tell me about the Turf Club at SSR.

Is there any romance to be had at the Turf Club?

What is the ambiance like? (lighting, music, layout of the tables, views).

Does anyone have any current pictures of the Turf Club?

It is not a large restaurant... but there are several different "sections," each divided by wood wall "partitions."

The decor is very dark wood, and one side of it is all windows - which look out onto outdoor eating terrace.

They have been playing very nice classicals/standards each time we were there. Very peaceful.

We've eaten there twice - both at "off times," and it was very quiet.

I wouldn't consider it "romantic," but it was very pleasant.

Mary, the hostess there, really helped our large party out during our last trip a couple weeks ago. They fit us in on the terrace at about 7 p.m. on a Sunday night when the place was packed! Soooo, you may want to be sure to secure reservations a little bit in advance if you can.

I agree - it is very quiet and elegant. The tables are set up so that there are only a few in each section. The steak is very, very good at Turf Club. We went with the kids and BIL, so it was not "romantic" - but I think it could be if it was just a date.

I think it is hard to determine what is romantic and what is not at Disney. It truly depends on who is dining there etc. No offense to kids, love the little ones, but when you have kids throwing food even the restaurants labeled romantic lose that appeal.

That said, I found the Turf Club the night we were there, no young kids misbehaving, very enjoyable and relaxing. Soothing music, lovely clubhouse decor, and good food and service. The views of the boat landing/waterway are nice and it was a fun night.
