My ds 10 is crazy about all things star wars, but he is not a big thrill ride kid. :smooth: Will he like this ride? Is it worth going to mgm over this- otherwise we may skip this park this trip. We're going to MK and will probably be spending more time in the water parks (we're going in mid-June). Opinions please. :wave2:

Star Tours is a simulator ride, which means that you're led into a large "box" structure that has several rows of seats and a screen at the front. As things happen on the screen, the "box" moves up, down, and all around to simulate what you see happening on the screen. If the screen makes it seem as though you're doing a hard left turn, the ride gives you a hard left turn; if it looks as though you're going through a bumpy field of meteors, the ride gives you some jumps and jolts. It's not as smooth as a roller coaster, and it can be a little claustrophobic, if you're not fond of enclosed spaces. I personally don't like Star Tours (or Body Wars) because I like roller coasters and the feeling of being "outside." However, Star Tours is one of the most popular rides at WDW, and most people say that it's a must for Star Wars fans.

Even if your son decides not to ride it, you should at least make the trip to the Star Wars area of the Studios, if for no other reason than the meet & greets and the SW shop.

Thanks to all who responded. It sounds like a must do for us. So there are Star Wars characters to meet outside the ride? Both my sons (including my 4yr old) would love that. :Pinkbounc I just assumed there was a height limit and the 4yr old wouldn't be able to ride. But it sounds like he could. :flower:

My 4 yr old dd was nervous about going on it, but came out thrilled with it! She loved riding a "big" ride with daddy. I think it does have a 40" height restriction.

StarTours is a "repeat many times" attraction for DS13
