We're leaving for WDW tomorrow and are trying to decide between Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. We've been to both in the past. Can anyone describe the new Slusher Gusher at TL?

Slusher Gusher is awesome, but beware, this is a butt bruiser if you aren't on the rafts right. Don't let your butt get into the donut hole in the raft or you will crack your tailbone.

Otherwise, this is the best water ride in either TL or BB. Who'd have thought water could flow up.

I guess I got the name wrong (no surprise there!!). Its called the Crusher Gusher or something like that -- I mixed up the name with the slide at Blizzard Beach. Its the new Typhoon Lagoon attraction that I'm asking about - which I think is what you responded about, Matt - right?

I really hate to give bad news but I read on the WDW website that Blizzard Beach is closed until Dec 25th. :guilty: Sorry for the bad news.

That's not so bad, the new ride is at Typhoon Lagoon. At least with BB closed, it makes our decision easier! LOL :flower:

Crush n' Gusher is great! We did this when we were there in May and it was so much fun! Make sure you do it first thing though, lines build up for this one (although in Dec. they might not, lol!) I agree with the op, hold yourself up in the tube, otherwise you will hit your tailbone on some of the dips. There are three slides, Coconut Crusher, Banana Blaster, and Pineapple Plunger (I think those were the names anyway). If I remember right, two of them allow the two person tubes, one does not. Also, when you first go down the rollers that "drop" you into the slide, hold your breath! A virtual "wall" of water is coming up behind you....I got caught off guard the first time!

I can't wait to ride this. It's mostly the whole reason for our trip. It looks similar to the master blaster at Schlitterbaun in Texas. Ever since we saw the show on travel channel we've wanted to go. Now that disney has one it makes our trip perfect. Thank You for the tail bone heads up. I don't want to ruin the experience that I've waited years for. Cant wait for EE :Pinkbounc a whole other reason for another trip.

I don't know about the names, but I think you reversed it-2 slides allow 3 person tubes, but one only allows 2 person tubes. 2 person tubes can go on all 3 slides (we did them all on our honeymoon and we always had a 2 person). We LOVED it! Make sure to pick your butt up-they tell you to, and they mean it!

We just got back from Disney (were there 10/30 - 11/5) Blizzard Beach is closed so we went to Typhoon Lagoon. It was fun but VERY crowded.

Crush 'n' Gusher is awesome!! It's a "roller coaster" type slide, meaning you go down, then up, then down again (maybe 2 or 3 times each, can't remember exactly now, even though we rode each slide a couple of times!) The down parts aren't very big, though, nothing like the big water slides. My 8yo loved it and she's afraid to do the big slides. Anyway, there are very strong water jets that push your tube up the up parts. Note, they are meant to push the tube up, not your body. Like someone said, keep your bottom up, or you might end up with a chlorine water enema! :rotfl:

It's a blast, you've got to try it!

Have to jsut add...I loved crusher gusher! and can't emphasize enough to keep your butt up!!!!!!!!!! That really hurts when you don't!!!
And to WDWAurora.....beautiful picture!!!! Congrats!!!!!

I don't get it maybe I'm dumb. But if you have to keep your butt up and so many people have gotten their butt bumped on this thing why don't they switch to a closed tube or raft or something? I'm sure their is something they could use so you don't have to consciously think about keeping your butt up on the tube.

We just got back.
Hope this clears up what water park is closed.
Also the new ride @ Typhoon Lagoon.
Make sure your bottom is up.
If not your going to have a sore 1.

But even learning the hard way to keep my butt up doesn't stop me from really enjoying Crush n Gusher. The slides are great. In April 05 I had my two boys (24 and 16) on a 3 person raft. The 16 yo was in front and got air -- as he said, screaming like a little girl. It's become one of our Disney magic memories!

Thank you! That's really nice of you to say!

This is such a fun ride! ITA with everyone else, definitely keep your butt up when you hit the bottom of a drop. Keeping our butts up made it a fun ride for me and DBF, we laughed the whole time from trying not to hit bottom.

Good question. I don't know either. :confused3
