Tell Me About the Second Week of July In Disney!

I will be there too!

It will be hot and humid. Expect the afternoon thunderstorm almost every day between 2 - 4. A good time to go back to the room, have lunch and relax and head back to the park.

Buy a misting fan - they come in handy when standing in line.

Wear lots of sunscreen, hat and sunglasses.

Three words - Teen Tour Groups. :scared1: If you see a large mass of young people, all wearing the same color shirt, following their leader with the flag - run for your lives!!! Seriously, if they get in front of you in line your wait time could jump from 15 minutes to an hour in mere seconds. Stay ahead of the teen tour groups!!! :lmao:

We have been going at that time for approx. 10 years, for 2 weeks, so we know it well!

Weather - hot and humid! Despite what everyone thinks, it does not rain each day. The past few years, we have had days on end where it didn't end, and this year (we went 1 week earlier), was our coolest July ever! It was hotter at home! That being said, you need to take frequent breaks, especially in the air conditioning, drink, drink, drink and wear hats. Also as mentioned, misting fans are great! We take lots of shopping breaks, eat in restaurants and take a daily mid-day break to swim and freshen up.

Parks - they are open early and stay up late. Nothing is better than to be strolling around World Showcase around 8:00 pm, when the humidity has gone down, and there aren't that many guests around. MK is open very late many nights, so you can get a good amount done that way.

Crowds - they will vary. As I said, we are July experts, and have been at Christmas/NYE and March Break, and July crowds vary. Some days very busy, and others, not so much. The crowds are generally heavier though, so expect long delays at certain attractions, so you must use Fastpasses. I won't speak too much about tour groups, as we haven't had many issues with them at all. There are lots of tour groups in the summer though: schools, families, etc., so be mindful of larger groups of guests waiting in lines, and go the opposite way!

Hope you have a great time. See you there! Tiger :)

I've been in August.....figure it's the same.

Heat....Oh yeah....you can't buy enough sunblock. Bring a washcloth from hotel to wipe your sweat.
Misting fan.
Get to park early....leave for pool/lunch...go back in Pm after dark
Utilize water parks.

sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen....Comfy shoes.
Have fun

G to the parks early and break after noon and enjoy the resort and pools and head back after the heat breaks

Hot and Crowded. We just went in July last summer. It was the first time we had gone during July as we usually go around the first two weeks of June. My wife and I both said "Never Again". If the heat doesn't bother you, the Brazilian Tour Groups will. They were everywhere. If we saw a flag, we turned around and headed in the opposite direction. If that's the only time you can go, get there early and use morning EMHs. Also, take a break in the afternoon and go back later in the evening.

This July will be a first for us too!!! We are staying at BCV (brand new DVC members:cool1:) so we can go back to the hotel midday and swim in the greatest pool!

First July (have done August and June), Early start, break mid day at the villa and pools and come back late afternoon or night. Let the comando people (and groups) burn themselves out in the middle of the day.

Always cary an over the sholder cooler with 6-8 bottles of water (a couple of them frozen) and refill the bottles at the water fountains as needed.

I've done many a July trip, so I've got it down to a science.

First and foremost is the heat. Seriously - you can't even imagine. You feel like you are literally cooking in an oven. But a humid oven. That's why we always take midday breaks back at our resort.

Bring at least two outfits for each day, as you WILL sweat through your clothes completely and will want to change for the later part of the day.

Try to not be in the same line as the brazilian tour groups. And stand your ground if they try to line jump!

Use fastpass as much as you can.

Take advantage of the longer park hours. We LOVE being able to stay at MK until 2 or 3 in the morning!
