Have anyone stayed here??? Tell me everything, it looks so beautiful on their website, is it like that? Does anyone have pics????
Thanks :thumbsup2

I won't be much help since I haven't stayed there yet but I did love the look of the place on their website photos.

I just booked a room there for 2 nights so hopefully it will be great.

Maybe someone else has info for you.....

I followed the link through the Seaworld website and booked online since I decided to splurge and do a package deal.

You can book just the hotel through their website too - I believe it even listed a phone number you could use if you prefer to talk to a person.

Hope this helps some. :)

ok thanks. I have been looking at the seaworld package. I'm going to book on the website as well, don't really fancy calling the US. The internet is so much easier :)

We stayed at the Renaissance about 4 years ago. It was a nice hotel, clean and good size rooms. We could walk to Sea World which is great if you don't have a car. Unfortunately, when we were there the hot tubs were closed due to construction but the pool is nice, nothing fancy.

Now the other side, it is definately not Disney. It is a convention hotel which means if there is a big convention there are alot of busnessmen and women standing around the lobby smoking usually. While we were there I guess the conventions had some sort of Las Vegas theme and there were girls dressed in skimpy feathery costumes walking around the lobby. Not exactly a family atmosphere but I think that was just timing for us.

If I didn't have a car I would stay there again but since we usually drive, the next time we do Sea World we would just stay on site at Disney and go over for a day or even stay at one of the Downtown Disney hotels. Disney has spoiled us in that when I come back from a park for the day I like the atmosphere of the Disney hotels and pools. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the info. The fact that it's a convention hotel doesn't bother me. It's just me and my mom, no kids. The smoking part is ok as well since we have another smoking culture in Denmark then you have, so I'm used to it. But I understand what you mean, if you have kids, it's probably not the best hotel. I like the fact that we can walk to Seaworld! We are staying one week there and then one week at POR, so we will not be missing out on the Disney magic! :)

I would also like to give thanks for this info! I've been looking at staying at The Renaissance for a couple of nights late August but I'm kind of torn between there and the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort. Can anyone do a quick comparison? :) x

I've been to both, and would recommend the Renaissance. We stayed at Marriott World Center and really did not enjoy it. The pool water was really cold, the food court was terrible, plus we went when a convention of wanna be child actors/actresses were there.....not what I wanted to experience on vacation.. Renaissance was nice, and I bet even better since their renovation, plus you can't beat the location. We are looking at staying there again this year since we are doing Sea World, Aquatica, DC, and Universal, but will switch to the Hard Rock for the Universal part. But for the Sea World element, the Renaissance is great.

competition in July:banana: . We won't have a car - do you remember if there are any places to get food (i.e. grocery store or fast food) within walking distance?

Thanks so much for the info - the hotel looks beautiful - not that I will be seeing much outside of the ballrooms that week.

We haven't been there yet so I'm not sure where any of the places are to get food. The kids and I will be winging that part. :)

What dates in July are the dance competitions?

I can't remember being too close to walk to anything except Sea World, so walking to fast food would be out. There were restaurants in the hotel though, but I don't remember anything "fast". But we were there before their renovations. What kind of dance convention is it?

the 11th. It is the National Finals for a competition they danced at in NYC. There will be a little bit of everything, ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip hop. The kids are really, really excited. We were going to stay somewhere else, but with classes all day and then competition at night (with only an hour and a half to get ready), it is just easier to stay at the host hotel.

I know some of the team are driving down, so we may just have them do a grocery store run for us to get lots of bottled water and snacks for our dancers.

Have a great day!!

Beth
