Where is it located? How much for washing & drying? I just don't think I'll be able to get by without doing a couple of loads one day, darn it!

Thanks!

The guest laundry is on the ground floor of the Dolphin between the health club and Tubbi's. It is quite large with really amusing old-time ads of washers and dryers on the wall. I don't remember how mcuh it cost, but you should plan for $2.00 per wash and $1.00 per dry.

I always do laundry at WDW. I would need a sherpa to help me with my bags otherwise! I pack dry detergent tablets (Tide and Surf make some, for example) and dryer sheets with me. Otherwise, you'll have to pay through the nose for detergent too.

The laundry is fairly decent, doesn't ruin your clothes like may industrial ones. I have used it 3 times and have always found plenty of free machines. Only drawback is it takes tokens and the machines are not always working properly and you have to go upstairs for refunds.

Is this for use from the swan also or does the swan have another laundry? Tacky to roll my luggage across the walkway to do laundry? Thanks MKY:rolleyes:

We think the laundry is pretty nice, was very clean & well-maintained whenever we used it. There is a t.v. & a good sized bench to fold clothes. It is located near the health club, Dolphin lap pool & real close to Tubbi's. The last time we used it we ordered a freshly made pizza from Tubbi's to eat while there. The dry detergent tablets from home worked out great. I don't think the Swan has a laundry--we had a large plastic bag from a previous Disney resort trip that I carried over!

My fellow Badger, Bruce, is correct. There is no laundry at the Swan. You'll need to go to the Dolphin.

No its not tacky to roll your laundry over to the Dolphin from the Swan. Thats exactly what I do. Stuff the trash bag full of dirty clothes into the wheeled suitcases and roll it over. Fold nice and clean back into the suitcases. Beats carrying it :D

The laundry facility is very clean and COOL. Make sure you bring laundry sheets and, if you can, packable detergent - it is quite costly to purchase from the vending machines. They arcade is a few doors down and the kids can do that while you are doing clothes. BTW, I did notice that if you are not present to remove your clothes from the dryer and there are guests waiting for a dryer, they will remove your clothes (the guests will) and leave them in a cart or on the table.

Just wanted to post a great tip that one of the moderators gave me on our last trip to the Dolphin. I was doing my laundry one night (with several others) around midnight and happened to meet a lady who was a DIS moderator and a DU travel agent (it's a small world :D ). Anyway, she had brought her laundry down in a couple of square mesh laundry hampers. These hampers fold up flat in a suitcase and then "pop-up" when you open them. She said she got hers from Wal-mart, I've also seen them at Kirklands in the mall. I wish I could explain them better, because it was a GREAT idea. They don't take up hardly any space in a suitcase, and they're good for placing in your room to throw dirty clothes into until you're ready to do laundry.

Luv2Travel, your post made me wonder, is the laundry room open 24 hrs?

I bet that was fun meeting another DISer! How did you know who is was? Were you or they wearing lime green ribbon?

It's a GREAT facility, as far as laundomats go! I agree w/all others on here~it's much better to pack some detergent/dryer sheets for the trip (the Co$t in the facility is pricey). Also, I have used the Laundry @ 1:30 a.m. Just call the desk, and a security person will be glad to open the doors for you. They are not open 24 hrs, but will accomodate any guest~at any time. There's a nice television in there too. Of course...laundry is the last thing I like to think about before a vacation, but it's a fact of life. I only wish there was an attraction associated with it...like "The river of time", etc.! LOL...now THAT would make the laundry duty a bit more exciting!:p ;)
