Tell me about the "flights"

I see so many posts about ppl gettting a flight. What in the world is it and who has them? All I have gotten is there are more then one and it has alcohol in it.

It is a tasting of several different drinks, usually served in smaller quantities.

For example, you can get a beer flight at Biergarten: 5 glasses (6 oz) of different beers.

Or a margarita flight at La Cava de Tequila: little shotglasses filled with different margaritas.

If you find somewhere with a wine flight, you'll get a different wine with each course of your meal.

OK, taking notes other then wine(migraines) I would love to try it

Flight can be considered like "sampler". Usually a few different selections of the same thing (cheese, wine, beer, tequila like the other poster said). I haven't ordered any of the flights of anything at Disney but I've seen pictures. I think there's some on the food pics thread. They're small portions and seem to have printed descriptions (at least at Disney). Usually arranged in weakest or lightest flavor to strongest.

Some of the signatures offer wine flights. This is not a glass with each course (that's wine pairing). Like PP mentioned, it's sample size glasses.

For example, at Flying Fish they have a Port flight--one small glass each of 10-20-and 30 year Port. Together they might add up to one regular glass. It's a good way to sample several things--.
