I will be stay there in May with my son, DIL and their 3 year old twins. I plan to take the kids back to the hotel a couple afternoons while the others stay and enjoy rides the little ones cannot go on. Are there particular activities that happen at the hotel? Park areas to run? Special things to see that would interest young ones?

I recall a few grassy/lawn areas. The pools are nice and they have a mini slide (in shallow water) for little kids. I recall that there are movies shown by the pool on some evenings (they gave us a schedule when we checked in). There are sometimes characters in the lobby but I don't think it follows a schedule. Each lobby is decorated differently and the kids might like to go look at the miniature model of BTMRR in the lobby of the frontier tower.

When you check in, feel free to ask what attractions and/or things to do that would be of interest to the twins? The CMs at the DLH will be more than happy to provide you a map of the DisneyLand Hotel Grounds and point out where All the attractions for the twins are located. From Goofy's Kitchen(Character Meals) to the pool areas as well as times for character meets on the hotel grounds, lots to do at the DLH. Numerous cafes, restaruants and even a coffee shop are on the DLH grounds

Toon Town is a good place to take the twins to run and have a bit of fun. Perhaps you can get them good and tired and let them nap, or at least, rest while watching a movie. I do know when we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, we saw quite a few of the Disneyland cats roaming the grounds, especially by the laundry building area.

Thank you all for the information. I imagine I will be buying plenty of souvenirs for play time back at the hotel too!

The Lego Store is at that end of Downtown Disney, close to the DLH. They have a play area set up in front of the store where kids can build little race cars and race them down a little track. My son loves it! Definitely do the pools, super fun for kids and they do kids games around the little slide water area too. Don't forget to grab a Mickey ice cream bar at Tangaroa Terrace or Dole Whip from the Coffee House! Have fun!!

There is a little area in the lobby that runs Disney cartoons all day long. DD loved sitting there watching cartoons- still does even though she is older. The minute we arrive she always runs straight over there- and she always hangs out there right before we leave. . Goofy often shows up in the lobby too. One of my favorite memories is that we were leaving and DD had been kind of laying across a footstool/ottoman watching cartoons while DH was loading the luggage and I had been facing away from her standing in the lobby talking to DH, and I turned around and Goofy was laying next to her watching cartoons with her. It was so sweet.
