We just signed up for this card because we can get $200 Disney gift card if we put $500 on it in the first three months. One thing the it mentioned was that we could do a character meet and greet that is only for card members at DCA. Has anyone done this? How does it work? Also, we have a trip planned for the second week of June. If we put the $500 on it as soon as we get the cards (have to pay for some medical expenses), then how soon have people gotten their gift card? Is there anything I couldn't use the gift card for at the parks (Like food carts)?

We have the Chase Visa debit card so I'm not sure about earning the gift card but we do get the meet n greet at DCA. We did it last year and we saw Stitch but just before he was out it was Daisy. Basically you go to the special line for the visa cardholders, it was behind Mad Tea Party area, and you get to have your pic taken with the character. Then you go to the photo shop with the photo pass they give you or PP+ if you have it and pick out which one of the photos from the M&G you want to have printed off. You don't need to go to the photo shop right away, it can be done later in the day.

I love mine....
Last year it paid for my daughters trip on the fantasy .... This year it's paying for 2 nights @ GC .
Other times we have used it to pay for all our meals.

We got our last year and did the same thing with getting the gift card. Don't remember how long it took, but don't think it took very long. Our reward dollars earned since our trip last year is paying for all our food on our June trip and maybe some souvenirs. I just keep it paid off and use it instead of my debit card for gas, groceries etc.

I do the meet & greet every so often, I'm at the parks once a month. I've gotten stitch, daisy, Minnie...very cute pictures. One picture per Disney cc account. Don't wait too long to pick up the free picture or you'll wait forever with the rest of the photo pass picture purchasers in line. They'll add a border or title too.

Is there an annual fee for the card?

We love our card. We knew we had a DL vacation coming up so we started charging pretty much everything on it and paying it off before getting an interest charge and ended up with quite a few reward dollars. It was like free money! We love it!

I got a $200 credit to my card not a gift card which is what I read when signing up, so just be advised.

We got the gift card promotion last year but I think it might have come after the statement closed. Watch the mail because it comes in a plain envelope. We used it toward upgrading our hoppers to APs. :) And we've done the photo thing too. However, we usually have PP+ so we've never gone to actually pick up the photo since they are all added to the PP+.

we love our Visa. We get 6 months to pay off our trip. We pay an annual fee of $50 for the premium card because we get a lot more back in rewards. We earn about $700 towards our trip every year. The Disney cars people are all friendly and professional.

We have the standard card (no annual fee and 1% rewards), but I was thinking of upgrading to the Premier ($49 fee, but double rewards in some categories.) Do they ever offer a bonus for upgrading to the new one? If there might be an offer in the future, I would hold off on the upgrade.

There is an annual fee for the premier card, $49 per year, but you get double the rewards (2%) for grocery and gas purchases. Target and Walmart qualify as grocery purchases, so I always use my card there. I don't usually use the card that much, but last year I used it for all my Christmas shopping and a few large purchases and had enough in rewards to pay for our Fantasmic! dinner package at Blue Bayou a few weeks ago! Yay!
Plus, I always smile when I pull out my Tinkerbell visa card :)

I use my card for everything, like a debit, each month and use all the rewards for our big trips, it is great to use in the park for meals. The meet n greet is usually in DCA by Monsters Inc.

You can't use it at any place that just takes cash. Otherwise, you can use the gift/rewards cards just about anywhere.

We have the no fee one, and really like it. I especially like the 6 month no interest financing. This is great for more expensive Disney trips -- we used the card for a trip to Aulani and had six months to pay it off.

I have a reward VISA 3*2*1 card thru BofA. The reward program is 3% back for gas, 2% for groceries and 1% for everything else.
With NO annual fee. For now it seems that the BofA card gets me the most for my money spent.

Just wish it had a pretty Disney picture on the card.

Advice please -- I have my Disney Visa Redemption Card (gift card for purchases) in hand for my trip beginning Saturday (!!!!) :earsboy: I'd like to know how you use your card. Do you 1) just use it until the balance is gone to pay for things such as gratuity/alcohol/souvenirs; 2) charge everything back to your room and when your balance gets close to what is on your redemption card go to the front desk and pay off the current balance and then just keep charging back to your room to pay with a CC later, or 3) give it to the hotel at check-in and once the balance is gone go back to the front desk and provide a new card? Just trying to figure out what is easier... Thanks so much for your tips!

That sounds like a nice card. Is it better overall in comparison to the Chase Visa then? Or is the Disney card better for certain features? tia :)

You can go to the BofA website and see the various offers they have.

I like that the one I have doesn't have an annual fee, so I save right there. Since I pay it off each month, I have no idea of the interest rate.
BofA Cash Rewards CC doesn't give me a special meet and greet opportunity at Disneyland.

When I looked at the websites for the Regular Disney CC, the Premium Disney CC and a Chase Disney CC....
Reward wise, the way I read it the BofA Cash Rewards CC is better.
I also like that the reward money earned with the CC can be cashed in for CASH. It's not money that has to be spent at Disney.

A few years ago I used an Alaska Airlines CC that gave you points towards air travel. 1 point for 1 dollar charged. It takes 12,500 to 20,000 points for a one-way ticket from PDX to Disneyland. Seats and good travel times were really limited. If I watch for airfare specials I can find a one-way ticket for $79 to $103 now.

I know the title of the thread is "Tell me about the Disney Visa Card" If anyone feels I've hijacked the thread please notify the mods and ask for my posts to be removed.
I'm just trying to help others find a way to help save. By the way I have NO connections to BofA other than a customer. I'm a retired Radiation Therapist/Radiographer.
