We are planning to go to Orlando to see my sister Thanksgiving week and of course we have to incorporate a trip to our favorite place on earth. Please tell me about your experiences during this week. How are crowds compared to spring break season, summer and christmas? Are Christmas decorations up yet? Does MVMCP begin during this time? How is the weather? Is it rainy, cool or still hot? Any info will be greatly appreciated. :goodvibes

We were there the Saturday before Thanksgiving thru the day after Thanksgiving. The early part of the week was great and the crowds were manageble. By Wednesday afternoon activity picked up and Thanksgiving day was crowded at MK. All the decorations were up but MVMCP did not start till after Thanksgiving weekend, I think it started the first of December. We left Friday afternoon so I can't really say how bad the weekend was. We would definitely consider another trip at this time. The only thing we regretted was when we got home it put a real rush on us to get our Christmas decorations out because we normally do all that during this time off.

We have been Spring Break, Summer and Thanksgiving week and have found the crowds to be similar for each. We LOVE the weather in November. Very little rain and mild temps...warm enough to swim but not hot and jackets for the evening. The Christmas decorations are up, you can see the Christmas show at the Tomorrowland Theatre, the Osbourne Lights are up, Candlelight has started.....all the little extras that make it Magical! We are going over July 4 this year and going to USF and on the Wonder over Thanksgiving but that is truly our favorite time to visit!

We've been to WDW twice during Thanksgiving week and once during spring break. I thought the crowds were heavier during Thanksgiving week than spring break. (However, I followed Tour Guide Mike's reccomendations for Least/Most Busy Parks during the spring break trip, but not on the Thanksgiving trips, so that might have made a difference.) The weather was great for both of our Thanksgiving trips. We wore sweatshirts in the morning and evening. In the afternoons, we were comfortable in t-shirts and shorts. It was a little chilly, but we did go swimming during both of our Thanksgiving visits. The Christmas decorations are beautiful and Christmas music is played in the parks. If you plan well, I think you can outsmart the crowds and have a great trip at Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving week is pretty busy. The weather can be difficult to judge. Some days in November are warm, some are cold. Dressing in layers is best. Evenings can get downright chilly. The Christmas celebration starts the day after Thanksgiving. The Disney music leaves the parks and carols fill the air. Christmas around the world at Epcot is fantastic. The Candlelight processional is great too. I've been disappointed with MGM's lights since they took out the residential neighborhood for Lights, motors, action. Each day after Thanksgiving the crowds begin to thin more and more.

We did this this past Thanksgiving.. It was totally managable with TGM and a plan.. We attended MVMCP the Sunday after and it was AWESOME!!!
