I think I was 8 when I last went to WDW in September so things are a little hazy regarding the weather, crowds etc.

Would you all be so kind as to refresh my memory about your September trips pros and cons. the main pro for me being flying direct from BHX is still available at this time of year, after the whole flights debarcle with Continental last week I don't think I can face it again!

Thanks everyone!

we went in september last year. my TR/live reports link is in my signature. we loved it, so i'll keep it short and sweet

pros:
light crowds
hot weather
virtually no rain when we went
(normal) availability of free dining offer
quiet parks
cheaper than summer and cheaper hotels as its low season

cons:
technically you're in hurricane season so you take your risks when you book in september....

We were there August through mid September and had some of the best weather we have ever had. Blisteringly hot, spent most afternoons sunbathing IN the pool not around it lol, and like karentan says virtually no rain. Yep it is hurricane season, everyone remember Sept 2004 :scared1: but last year they got away with none at all. I personally found it a little bit stressful before the holiday. There were reports of hurricanes out in the atlantic that could hit so it freaked me out but I've learnt they often amount to nothing.

Parks are fairly quiet but remember you have to be able to stand that heat. One night in MK it was about 99 degrees whilst Wishes was on, thats just too hot for some people. It's always weird to me that it gets hotter during the evening rather than cooling down as it does here lol.

I went in September last year and it was HOT! Almost unbearably so at times. We were lucky that there was very little rain while we were there but when it did rain, it was torrential. The crowds were quite low most of the time and we didn't queue for longer than 15 minutes for anything (aside from TSM).

I think it's a good time to go and I'm going again in September this year!

Interested as well as we are going August 22nd to September 11th.

Small world we go on the 22nd August too. :)

As for September, I think crowd wise will be fine, it quietens down from the middle of August.
Weather is the main issue, September it is very very hot. Not as humid as say July, but nevertheless high temperatures , possibly the odd afternoon storm.
Take it easy round the parks and visit at cooler times of the day, drink plenty of water, take regular breaks indoors and wear loose comfortable clothing. Not the time to break in a new pair of shoes either. ;)

We were very happy with September and would go back at that time any year if we could.
Crowd wise it was really low. Going early in the morning you can ride some of the most popular rides several times in a row without queuing at all (notable exception being TSM).
The only slight negative was that it is really hot and humid and you get sticky and sweaty in about 5 minutes. Not particulary nice. But a small price to pay.
And free dining, can't say anything bad about that, it's brilliant!!

You can get direct flights with Thomson or if you go from East Midlands First Choice to a service too, both into Sanford not MCO though, but that doesn't bother me :)

We love going in September.

The crowds are low, the weather is not too hot & we have been lucky to have hardly any rain on all of our September trips. :thumbsup2

If you go towards the end of the month you will be able to experience the Food & Wine Festival too. :thumbsup2

We've been twice in September and head back there this year on September 25th.

Crowds are low although the free dining has made a difference in my opinion.

To me the weather is perfect.

You can also go to MNSSHP.

(Sorry if I repeated anything someone else said)

I can't help on Spetmber per se. But we were there from 1st October last year.

It was HOT (record breakingly so though, I heard people saying it was hotter than when they'd been in July), but we had very little rain (rain two afternoons but never too heavy.)

It was pretty low crowds, but I hear that September is even quieter.

I would visit again in October, and would definitely go in September!

We went in September a few years ago, and it was very hot every day. There was a lots of UK holiday makers out there at the time. I think we went around the 5th September.

I don't know how busy the parks were as we never went to any of them on that trip. One tip drink plenty of water and be careful not to stay out in the sun for long periods of time.
