I am debating between this and Biegarten (I know I probably banged up the spelling on that one!!)

Help! Thanks!!

We have eaten at Rose & Crown several times and enjoyed it, but we have not been for a few years. The menu has changed since we last went. We found the servers to be warm and friendly. Lots of folks will tell you to get a patio table for Illuminations, but they no longer allow you to request and wait for outside seating. It is totally the "Luck of the Draw" when you check in. It is a wonderful view if you get it. The best time for an ADR, hoping for Illuninations seating on the Patio would be 7:30 - 7:45. If you are seated inside, there is a private patio you will be escorted to to watch Illuminations - it is still a good view.
That said, I see you have some young children. There is no special entertainment for them at the R & C.
However, we were very disappointed in the Biergarten on our trip in October. We waited for 45 minutes to be seated in a half empty restaurant. I was not pleased with the buffet at all. All I really enjoyed was the desserts. The entertainment was enjoyable, but very short in duration.
Good Luck in your decision

We have never been to Beirgarten, but went to R&C on our trip last August. We absolutely loved it! The food was fantastic! We got "Lamb 2 Ways" and Bangers and Mash. The Sticky Toffee cake for dessert was great. We sat inside at a table for two. It was a great table for us. Since we were celebrating our engagement, our waiter spread out the timing on our meal and then led us to a table he had prepared for us on the lover level patio so we could watch Illuminations. All the other tables were wet from the rain, so the dry table just for us made us feel very special.

R&C was a wonderful experience and we are planning another ADR there for our honeymoon this August!!! :bride: :cool2:

We've dined recently at R&C on two different occasions -- both times for lunch. We really enjoyed it. The food was tasty and the service friendly. We've never eaten at Biergarten (we always think about it and nix it because the food choices don't appeal to us and we hate buffets), so I can't provide a comparison for you.

We have yet to try biergarten but we did eat at rose and crown. I think their food was o.k. However when we went in August we wanted to sit inside but they were telling everyone that there are no more seats inside. (this really suprised us considering we had a reservation with in the first 1/2 hour of them opening.

Rose & Crown is one of our very favorite places to go!! We go a couple times each trip.

Patio seating is fantastic!

Staff are very warm and friendly...Gemma and VeeJay are wonderful!!

We loved the The Imperial...it's a 5-beer flight...yum!

The cheese and sausage plate for two is delicious....I loved the brie and onion jam and the blood sausage.

Fish and chips are a must!

Sticky Toffee Pudding...OMG this is AMAZING!!!

Go, go, GO! It's wonderful!!!

7 out of 7 in our party said disliked R&C.
it took over 4 hours for dinner (two hours for 3 out of 7 of our appetizers to arrive with the balance being served while mid-way through eating the entree, flatware about 30 minutes later, no liquid refreshment until after the coagulated entrees had arrived and was eaten - despite repeated requests, dessert ranged to just okay to "disgusting").

even if we could handle the horrible tasting food, all of us were nauseous afterwards, and more than half suffered severe vomiting into the following evening....

R&C is the one and only wdw restaurant i would absolutely advise against. biergarten, or anywhere else, was a gazillion times better.

Rose & Crown is one of our very favorite restaurants!! Ate there twice last trip.

Service is outstanding, food was good. Love the patio seating.

1st reservation we made for our April 2010 trip

Never eaten at R & C. Tried the BG in October and was not impressed with the food. Lines for the buffet. But the children loved dancing to the music!

:thumbsup2

We ate here as a part of the dinner package last month prior to watching the Candlelight Processional.... The food was great, the servers were great no complaints and many kudo's to the staff.
