Ok so we have been to Disney several times...I am starting to plan our trip for March 2017 and I just can't figure out some of our dining options. We will be on the deluxe dining plan and I have most of our dining figured out but I am not sure about Trails End as an option. I have been looking over and over and over again at the menu and while my hubby and me would probably love the food, my kids would not. I have planned for this dinner to be on our "down" day so we aren't doing any parks that day...but we will have 10 day park hopper tickets so if need to do a park for dinner I guess we could but I would rather eat at a resort. Anyways here are the resorts I already have in mind for ADRs...can anyone give me some recommendations on a restaurant for dinner that isn't signature and only costs 1 credit and has pretty good food...thanks! Heres what I have so far:

SOA Dinner Show
1900 Park Fare Dinner
Sanaa Dinner
Kona Cafe Breakfast
TREX Lunch
Chef Mickeys Breakfast
Ohana Breakfast
Mickey's Backyard BBQ Dinner
Boma Breakfast

You have some good ones! I would look into The Wave at CR, Trattoria al Forno at BWI and Capt. Grille at YC. GF Cafe is also good.

Thanks I will check these places out!

Check out Whispering Canyon at WL. Very family-friendly!

We ate at Whispering Canyon last year and while my hubby and me and our toddler son LOVED it, my older DS did not...Hes on the spectrum so this restaurant was just too busy and loud for him and he went into sensory overload :(

I see you have Trex on your list. I haven't been, but have heard it is loud, and has things like flashing (strobe type) lighting. Just an FYI.

We were there a couple of years ago and were sat in a backroom...it was loud, but there weren't many people there bc it was an off time...the lighting didn't seem to bother him and the dinos didnt bother him either. I think what bothered him at WC was the random kids yelling and running to different tables delivering ketchup and the wait staff being loud while playing the games. He likes things to be orderly and not chaotic...the dinos roaring were always on a schedule so he was able to get use to it. Anyways like I said though that was an off time and I am second guessing it right now...the only reason holding me back is bc my DS loves dinos and asked to go there, so I am a little iffy on that. We did Rainforest last year and while the environment was good neither of my kids liked the food there...I know Disney Springs is opening a whole bunch of new places so when it gets to the time we have to book ADRs I am more than likely going to reevaluate our lunch choice, lol. I know Disney Springs is opening a Burger Place but not sure if its going to be considered CS or TS so I am watching for that because that would more than likely be our top option

Have you considered Raglan Road at Disney Springs?

I also loved the Wave and the Grand Floridian Cafe. I had lunch at Captain 's Grille and really enjoyed it.

Another completely different environment is the ESPN club at the Boardwalk

We did ESPN Club last year and it was fun and the food was good...looking for something a little different though. We looked at Captains Grille's menu but nothing really appealed to us same with Grand Floridian Cafe. I was just looking at the menu for Raglan Road and it sounds really interesting and I have heard really good reviews of it...their kids menu has like a million items on it (on another note, and I am sure this has been answered several times, but with the new Deluxe Dining when we go next year my son will be 10). He is a pretty picky eater and where most of the places I have chosen he could get something off the Adult menu and be very very happy with it, I think there is only 1 or 2 places (Raglan Road being a possible one), where the adult menu is just too fancy for him, lol...would he be allowed to order off the kids menue?

Trail's End dinner has a pretty good variety. Unless your kids need a burger (and sometimes mine do, so no judgement there!) or prefer ethic food, I would think it would be a great rest day spot... So much fun stuff to explore at the fort. Beef, chicken, lots of salads, salmon. They have a kid section, too. Does your son have any food allergies? Our DD does and we had her best Disney meal ever there.

He doesn't have any food allergies but he is an extremely picky eater...He's going to be 10 this year and I am trying to get him to try new things, sometimes it works out and sometimes not so much, LOL...He loves italian food though, so I think we have decided on Trattio Al Forno at the Boardwalk instead of Trails End...that way after dinner maybe he can watch some of the entertainers on the boardwalk...I think him and my toddler would love that

The wave -- great food
1900 park fare
The Italian place on the boardwalk -- best caprese salad
Ohana just an all around great time

Cape May Cafe at Beach Club is a great dinner buffet! We love it.. the seafood is good and they also have other options that aren't seafood.

I know it is not a resort, but Raglan Road is fantastic! An excellent menu and the food is always great. Plus they have the best bread pudding I've ever had!

We are planning on doing cape may breakfast one day...I try not to eat at the same place twice with so many options

I was actually just debating raglan road instead of doing trex on our down day. They have so many kids meal options there! And the adult menu looks interesting...the only thing is my older DS will be 10 on this trip and he's an extremely picky eater so just need to figure out for raglan road if he will be able to eat off the kids menu or not. We will have the deluxe dining plan so not sure if he can do that

Your son should be able to order off the kids menu at Raglan Road. I think, but don't have personal experience, that the worse case scenario is that they would charge you an adult credit for a kids meal. But on the DxDDP, it shouldn't be a problem for you

SOA Dinner Show
1900 Park Fare Dinner
Sanaa Dinner
Kona Cafe Breakfast Really good choice, lunch and dinner good here too
TREX Lunch
Chef Mickeys Breakfast
Ohana Breakfast Prefer dinner here
Mickey's Backyard BBQ Dinner
Boma Breakfast
Another good choice, like Kona, dinner good here also.

The Wave breakfast and lunch are good, Trails End breakfast is a a good one, Maya Grill at Coronado is among our faves. Olivias at OKW, all 3 meals are tops

Another vote for Whispering Canyon Café - one of our favorites. If Paul is there, he is fantastic.

I actually think you can do that if you are on the deluxe dining plan! It really is a great restaurant with lots of great options. Someone can maybe shed some light on this.. but I have read from others on here that if you are on the deluxe dining plan, an adult can order from the kids menu.

Oh and great choice with Kona for breakfast! This is my favorite non-character place for breakfast! Awesome food. I am craving the macadamia-pineapple pancakes!!!

I loved Sanaa last year when we went, but if you have a picky eater (as do I) be prepared for them not to eat much. For us the food was great though.

Not sure where you are staying but we really like The Wave for a monorail resort restaurant. We loved Boma first time we ate there (last time there were some issues) so maybe consider that. Raglan Road is a very good choice, as is House of Blues, but both are Disney Springs and can be loud. How about Teppan Edo? Fun place to eat and pretty good food but at Epcot so may not work for you.

So I guess if you prefer a resort then I'd say The Wave or Boma. If you want something perhaps a bit more quiet then I'd consider Boatwright's Hall at Port Orleans.

Wow...I have never had so many issues picking out where to eat before, LOL...I guess thats because we are going on a longer trip so more places to eat. Anyways I ended up taking out the italian place at the board walk, so we can do dinner at Raglan Road. We are planning to stay at The Poly, so originally our down day was going to consist of Kona for Breakfast, TREX for Lunch and the Italian place at the boardwalk for dinner. Then I started looking at the menu for Raglan Road and decided that was better than TREX, so I took TREX out of lunch and put Raglan Road in, then I discovered that Raglan Road does evening entertainment with step dancers...That is so cool and my kids would love that so I took the italian place out for dinner and then put Raglan Road in for dinner, then I needed a new place for lunch! I didn't want to do the boardwalk italian place for lunch bc thats kind of heavy food for lunch time, and the more I thought about it...I didn't really want to go far from the Poly bc it is our down day/pool time. Anyways then I thought well my family all really like breakfast food so maybe we should just do a lunch time for Ohana bc their breakfast goes til 12. So I decided on Ohana for lunch for our rest day, but since I had Ohana planned for a different day then I had to figure out what I could plug into there...long story short we are planning a MK day that day so we decided to give The Wave a try for breakfast that day, LOL...My head hurts now! Like I said never had to do this much moving around and figuring out what I want! Anyways I will probably change it 10 times over, but this is what we have so far:
