We will be at Universal end of July and have stayed at HRH before. I have not seen much written on here about PBH good or bad. APH rate is something like 209 is that as low as it goes? Is it worth it? i was considering RPH also but recently read some less than glowing reviews on the trips report board. I am also wondering how far the walk is to the parks from PBH compared to HRH. Is the water slide better at PBH? Any help appreciated. Thanks :)

We have only stayed at PBH so I can't compare to HRH or RPH. We did pool hop to the HRH and the kids seemed to like the pool slide better than at PBH. The PBH is the longest distance from the parks but it only takes a few minutes using the boats which run frequently. I really love this resort and it is beautiful. The pool is very nice and the kids did like the slide there also. I can't seem to force myself to try the other resorts because I am enjoy PBH so much.

When we checked into PBH, I told my DH that the only hotel that I found equally as nice was the 5-star Marriott Aurora in Moscow, Russia. This may have been a little nicer.

The room size is nice. The bathroom in our deluxe room was huge. The beach pool was very nice and they had activities for the kids that were organized by hotel staff members. My 11 yo DS loved the slide. My DD loved playing in the sand.

The walk would be rough in the humidity. We enjoyed the short boat ride to and from the parks. We did walk one night from PBH to Tchoup Chop. A nice stroll, but it wasn't humid in March, either.

The staff at PBH was very attentive. It would be my first choice of resorts next time.

I have a $159 APH rate booked for August. I don't really think the rate for July will go down, but it could. It usually just means the occupancy level is higher during your dates.

We have been to all three. We love Portofino. The kids love the pools and the slide is their favorite over HRH's. The restaurants are excellent and its beautiful to walk the grounds. We love the extra space that the rooms offer and those beds are just incredible! We do alternate each stay between the three hotels but usually PBH and HRH are the heavy favorites. If RPR had larger rooms or suites that were better for families we would be there way more often cause the staff is the best and the restaurant choices are great too.

We have walked to and from PBH but like said above, the boats are quick and easy and save your feet for the parks.
