Tell me about ordering groceries at WDW!

Heard a rumor u can order groceries at WDW! How do u do this? We r going the end of Jan for a week and might take advantage of some items.

Hi,
We went to WDW in 10/08 and stayed at WL and used the Garden Grocer. It was no problem,I ordered online about a week before they called to confirm and everything was waiting for us at the hotel. I think the website is www.gardengrocer.com. They have a decent selection of brands and items. There was a delivery fee but it was well worth it as we did not rent a car. Do you remember what the delivery fee was? I think it was $12.00 in Sept 07 if your order was less than $250--. I've looked on their website but can't find the information.

We have always used www.wegoshop.com. Marge is the owner and has been wonderful to work with. You can request specific stores and just give a list of items. She gives you the exact store receipt and goes through everything when it's delivered. She even rearranged our delivery once when our flight was delayed. She does charge a delivery fee but it was well worth it for us.

We used garden grocer in December. They were great. They came earlier than the window I picked but the cold items were placed in the hotel fridge. I believe the minimum was $50 and then a delivery fee of $10, plus a tip. I had a to order a few more items than I wanted, but we were very happy. Now...we had an issue with the hotel fridge. It really isn't a fridge, but a cooler. We had to put our ice bucket (with ice) in there to keep things cold. Our son loves yogurt, so we needed to keep it cool.

Another vote for Garden Grocer! We used them in 2006 and it was great! They were easy to work with and offered subsequent deliveries during the same stay for free. We will definitely be using them again for our trip in June.

Marge from wegoshop.com was awesome! She went to both Walmart & Wholefoods for us - a little extra charge, but no big deal. She got exactly the items I wanted. I think her charge is $17 on top of the grocery cost. I think the second store was $5. We were in WDW in November 2008.

another vote for garden grocer...we have some items delivered to our DVC every trip. no hassles & no problems

I have used wegoshop.com. I really REALLY liked the owner and the way things went so smoothly. I had to pay $17 on top of our groceries and that was it. I even picked out the grocery store I wanted her to shop .

I can request the exact items that I want. I noticed on the other site you have to order what they provide.

We've used GardenGrocer.com before and loved them, it was super easy and it was waiting for us at our resort when we arrived. But for our upcoming trip, I am really considering WeGoShop.com because of that one major benefit!

Another vote for wegoshop. Although I've also used gardengrocer, no problems at all, I just prefer the selection at wegoshop. They'll shop at whatever store you want. they get the exact brands and sizes you want. You pay the flat delivery fee, everything else is exactly as on the receipt.

So if, hypothetically, you want them to go to Super Wal-Mart and pick up non-food items, they can do that, as well. Or if your child needs lactose-free milk or you need a pound of kumquats--whatever!

BTW, the DVC resorts have a market area where you could get, say a quart of milk or loaf of bread. It's quite pricey, though. OTOH, wegoshop will do a second delivery for cheap. We hadn't planned to do this, but ended up wanting more fruit and some other items--it was our first DVC trip, we weren't sure what we'd want.
